That is a very good analysis of the Umnuzaan Alex!! I have been struggling to come up with a breakdown for the different varieties (for a lack of a better word) of Umnumzaan. I look at them as "changes" or if you prefer "improvements" to the original production Umnumzaan released in September of 2008. And then also break them down into the three different models, Orignal Design, Orignal Design with Tanto Blade (TNK Exclusives) and the Wilson Tactical Star-Tac.
So,
The Original Design:
Type 1. Original Design Umnumzaan (09-2008 to 12-2009)
The example in my collection is the Zann at the top in the group picture BCD 10-16-2008
Type 2. Original Design Umnumzaan with "new" Allen screw design for the rear spacer on the lock side.
I do not have one of these in my collection (see link2derek's excellent photo #13 in this thread)
Type 3. Original Design Umnumzaan with extended (wider) lock-bar for easier deployment and Idaho Made Stamp (10-2010)
The example in my collection is the third Zann from the top BCD 06-11-2011
Type 4. Original Design Umnumzaan same as #3 with addition of the no logo OTS (Over Travel Stop) and s35v steel late 2011.
The example in my collection is the fourth from the top BCD 12-09-11
Type 5. Original Design Umnumzaan same as #4 with addition of the OTS w/CRK logo and new style gimping. mid 2012.
The example in my collection is the fifth from the top BCD 07-24-2012
Type 6. Original Design Umnumzaan with all "New Features" (current production) first released September 2012.
I do not currently have one.. waiting for the right one in the coffin style box..
Original Design sub-category TNK TANTO:
The TNK exclusive Tanto versoin of the Umnumzaan can be had with every change listed above and to add more pain to the obsessive collector with three different lanyard's which are listed on the box !!! Although I believe the first version released in mid to late 2009 only came with a black lanyard with silver bead.
The one in my collection is the first version second from the top with BCD 12-03-2009.
Lastly we have the very popular Wilson Tactical (Combat) collaboration with Chris Reeve Star-Tac.This version of the Umnumzaan was first manufactured in March of 2010 and offered for sale in May of the same year.
So they can be found with every change listed above with the exception of the solid rivet type fastener on the lock-bar side found on the early versions of the Original Design. (Type 1)
I have four of the five changes in my collection (only two are pictured in the group)
The Star-Tac on the left is the second version (first for Star-Tac) BCD 03-31-2010
The Star-Tac (last photo on fur) which is the same as #3 above in the Original Version section. Has the extended lock-bar and IDAHO MADE logo. BCD 06-20-11.
The Star-Tac on the right in the group photo is the same as #5 in the Original Version section. Has the OTS with CRK logo and new gimping.
The Star-Tac in the last picture (added today) is the current and last production model but in the old style coffin shaped cardboard box. BCD 05-14-2013
So, was that long enough??

I must add that there are other variations out there.. for one our good friend blackend has a Star-Tac from July of 2012 that came New with all early features with the exception of the gimping on the blade!! and I am sure there are others that I either don't know about or have neglected to list. If you have more information please add it to the thread!!
ATB, Dave
And again please accept my apologizes for the overlong post and all the mistakes that it may contain.
If I can analyze what Dave has collect so far, we can divide the Umnumzaan Family in this way
A. OLD PIVOT
a1. Classic without LBS
a1. Classic with no brand LBS
a2. Classic with brand logo on LBS
a3. Tanto Blade without LBS
a4. Tanto Blade without LBS (to be confirmed)
a5. Wilson Combat without LBS
a6. Wilson Combat with brand logo on LBS
B. NEW PIVOT
b1. Classic with brand logo on LBS
b2. Tanto Blade with brand logo on LBS
b3. Wilson Combat with brand logo on LBS
But it seems to me that there are some differences also in the blade shape. Look at the first horizontal and last three always horizontal: is a photo distortion or the spine are somehow different?
And, about steel Umnumzaan see the light in 2008, CRK Switched to S30V January 2002 and
switched to S35VN January ( aprox. ) 2011, so I think there are at least two class of Umnumzaan blades
Am I missing something?
