  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Vehicle blade

Hey Bushman, can you snap a pick of that?

Im intruiged to see how you have it attached.

I keep a few toys in the truck. Multitool, gerber gator folder and flashlight in the arm rest compartment. I keep a trailhawk, BK7 and very over supplied car kit in the back.

no camera anymore.

i just use the wire clip on the knife, clipped into the seatbelt webbing on the left side (so its visible). reach across, unclip/open/slice/ i'ma outta there :p

I keep a Victorinox SwissTool in the glove box at all times, a Estwing hatchet in the back, and I might add a Mora 2010, for long road trips, just in case. I also carry an Ultimate Survival Kit in the back, and that has their wonderful saber cut saw, so I'm pretty much covered as far as cutting things is concerned.

For prying, I also bring along a small crowbar. Keeps me from ruining knives with that sort of foolishness.

Of course, that doesn't answer the OP's question. I'd recommend a Becker/Ka-Bar BK-2. Cheap and indestructible.

Ohh ok, so not on the strap acrost the chest then?

Thanks man.

i liked the kabar warthog fixed blade. nice sheath with it, decent price, and a do all not too big blade with heft. that said i keep an ontario rc-5 in the camry!

Besides my EDC (usually my old Delica) , In my truck I keep a $10 Garant 30" crowbar and a MIC large fixed blade. I won't cry if I lose either, and both are useful for when SHTF. They reside under the seat for access. This way I can break glass from inside, cut seatbelt , and protect myself if I am attacked while I'm in the truck.

I have the Bushman but I would like to pick up the Bowie version too. Any of my heavy knives are now truck or boat carry, I don't pack those heavy knives any more. I also have that CS G.I. Tanto, tough SOB and Cheap..:D

A decent line of knives for the money are the Ontario Spec-Ops line. Carbon blades cordura sheaths with double retention straps, under $50 and made in the USA.

I keep three "cheapies" in the truck. Blackjack Grunt, Mora 510 and a Tromantina machete. I back it up with a folding shovel and a Cold Steel Trail Boss.

Inexpensive if lost or stolen but all are good and reliable.

Well i've got a gear bag that stays in the car almost all the time.

It's got a Mora Clipper, cheap S&W folder, multi-tool, breacher bar and one of those 4-in-1 screwdrivers.

I figure that covers things pretty well...even some reduncancy...though a small axe would be nice.

Here are my car knives:

My car - Kershaw Vapor
Wife's car - Alox Wenger SI, LM Supertool
Motorcyle - Gerber EZ-Out Jr. in tool roll
Other motorcycle - Boker stockman in tool roll

These are pretty modest blades, but they are all back-ups since I am always carrying something else anyway.

In the Skoda Scout I keep :

- Mora SS Clipper
-Victorinox Camper
-Fire starting kit ( small ferro rod, fatwood, cotton, jute and some bicycle inner tube)
-Canvas bag
-Canvas tarp

I have to add a Tram machete and a flashlight and I'm good to go :)
