Here is a background story concerning another purchaser around the same time.

http://http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/851496-You-be-the-judge...

Here are the conversations that we had (what I have saved in my email.)

Vernaculos (Daniel George on his Email.):

I shipped it yesterday (May 13)

Me:

confirmation #?
(May 13)

Vernaculos:

I mailed it small parcel air. I did not receive a tracking number. The postal lady said 5 to 7 business days.
(May 15)

Me:

still have not received package... please respond
(May 22)

Me:

please contact me asap
(May 23)

Vernaculos:

Has your knife still not arrived? This is truly disappointing. I couldn't make an inquiry at the post office because it was closed today(Victoria Day). I will try tomorrow. I'm pretty worried. I mailed out a package to Toronto on the same day I mailed your blade. Toronto is only 5 hours away and that person has yet to receive his delivery also. I don't know what the hell is going on. I will do everything in my power to get this fiasco straitened out. Dan
(May 23)

Me:

what did the post office say today?
(May 24)

Me:

Listen man, you need to make contact...it has been way too long since
i paid you...this is getting out of hand...this is
unexcusable...WHATEVER happened, you need to contact your buyer and
explain.. if i don't get an email back soon i will have to file a
claim on you.
(May 25)

Vernaculos:

I went to the post office and the lady said that most likely Customs is taking their time processing the package. If the package is not there by Saturday I will refund your money. In doing so, I trust you to send back the knife when you receive it.
(May 26)

Me:

Listen man, I was just upset because of the lack of communication is
all. If the package is en route then great...it had just been a while
w/o contact. Many people get scammed so you could understand my
worries. I was not accusing you of anything, just trying to get
informed. I will let you know as soon as i get it...
(May 26)

Me:

Still did not receive the rc5 today. is there any way of tracking its
destination?
(May 31)

Me:

???????????

please reply
(June 2)

Vernaculos:

I will issue a refund. I just deposited a few hundred $ in my account. Should take a week to clear. I will then issue you a refund.
(June 2)

Me:

so is the knife on its way or not????
(June 2)

Vernaculos:

Yes, the knife is on it's way but you've waited long enough and deserve a refund. I've transferred funds to my Paypal account and should be issuing your refund in the next few days (once the funds clear). When the knife arrives either send it or the money back, please.
(June 3)

Me:

What is the word on my refund?
(Yesterday June 6)

Vernaculos:

Once the funds have transferred from my bank account to my paypal account, then i can refund your money. Paypal estimates by the end of the week, June 10th. But if you keep fucking with me, I'll see you don't get your refund for months! Do not respond.
(Today June 7)

Any advice guys??

Thanks, and I will NOT deal with vernaculos again.

I don't really have any advice but I know that that last message you received from him would make me quite upset. By emailing this person you're not "Effing" with him, you're trying to figure out why it's been a month since you made payment and not received anything yet. Getting all vindictive on you and saying that he would "make sure you didn't get your money for months," because HE's annoyed, is simply bad business and bad form.

Does this person not know what it's like to worry about being scammed? Furthermore, does he not know what it's like to have someone not be in touch frequently, especially when an item he sent (Not priority mail! :() is yet to be seen.

I don't see how you emailing him wanting information is you "effing" with him, I can't get over that. I also can't get over the threat to hold your funds for months simply because he feels annoyed that you are emailing him with inquiries. That kind of vindictiveness is just unacceptable, IMO.

I'm sitting here shaking my head about this. I hope it all gets worked out for you and thanks for the heads up on vernaculos. I'll never do business with someone like that, EVER!!!

File the PP dispute.
there is a 45 day limit for filing a dispute - he's trying to drag this out so you miss that window.
So long as you did not pay by gift, if you have not received the blade they will side with you.
When you call and file the dispute, ask for an email address so you can forward your emails, especially the ones where he says it's PP's fault and the one where he threatens to not return your $$.

not the first incident this month with vernaculos it seems...

he has been here since february, most of his posts are in the for sale forums, and he hasn't been online since may 5th, i wonder how many others are having issues with him that haven't spoken up...post the POS' info...it's obvious he is not going to make right here...enough is enough...

100% agree.

Johntyler, I'm sorry you are having to go through this. I feel lucky to have gotten my flashlight. I actually believe he sent your knife (I got my light the same day you bought the knife). It really may be the PO fault or customs, but the lack of communication and attitude are uncalled for. I got the same kind of thing when inquiring about my stuff.

I also have a knife "on the way" from vernaculos that was sent the same day, May 5th.
I did this,
file a claim thru PP yourself and move on
Tired of no replies. He can deal with the dispute now.
Even if he did send the knife, it's obviously lost and not coming to me for whatever reason.
I told him IF it did show I would repay him.
Honestly, I'd rather have the knife than the money. That's WHY I payed for it.
I have NEVER had a domestic package take more than 10 days in Canada.
I'm sorry it had to come to this but I NEED to be protected as well.
