Very Bummed with Spyderco's Warranty (again).

I believe that I asked you to send the knife to me? I believe that you turned me down.

sal

I didn't turn the offer down, I offered to carry it for a week and see if it still bothers me.

I edited my comment because I realized I did not word it right and it appeared as if I was saying you would not fix my knife.

As I wrote above, I know I am being picky and only want this fixed if it can be done relativly cheaply. Please end me an email letting me know and let's let this be done.

Here is my final word:

I got a knife second hand and noticed the blade was bent after receiving it. I sent it in to Spyderco to see if it could be fixed and it (understandibly) couldn't be fixed and no replacements are available. I poted this here because I was upset about having a bent blade, I thought sending it in was giving Spyderco enough chance to make it right before I publicly complained about my knife. I now realize I should have emailedSal first and appologize for the other termites this has brought out of the woodwork.

I understand I am being picky about wanting a blade that is even straighter than their current tolerance, So I only want a fix if it can be done with minimal cost to Spyderco. If not I will probably trade this knife (with a note about all of this) because many people would be very happy with this perfectly useable knife. I invite Sal to please contact me privatly with a yes or no about the cost to replace. I am happy either way because of his involment in this.

Sal: please close thi thread. I posted without thinking about where this would go and appologize for the headaches I have caused you. Thank you for your concern, I know you have a lot to do and appriciate the work you do to defend the honor of your name. You're a stand-up guy.

@Michaelmcgo
It seems like So-Lo is busting your chops when you have been nothing but cool to him. Almost like he is rubbing it in your face that he traded you this knife.
I hope you get this blade all taken care of. I just had to send back in a CAT for a very weak lock up. They ended up sending me out a brand new one. I had no problems at all with spyderco CS.
Keep up the good work Sal.

My second ever knife deal here was with So-Lo and the blade I bought was just has he described it would be. You on the other hand haven't bought a knife from any member let alone So-Lo, but here you are more or less alleging that he traded a knife that he knew to be defective, yet didn't disclose to the offended party. Maybe after you've had a deal or two with some members here you can talk about the intentions of other, but until that time don't be accusing anyone of anything.
On the other hand, I have dealt with Spyderco CS and Repair on one occasion and everyone I had contact with was polite and considerate. I just want to thank the Spydie people and I continue to wish them all the best.

Do you know that being a gold member you can close your own threads?

So-Lo is a stand up guy and what you take as busting my chops is just some friendly jidding. We talked about the bent blade after I noticed it and decided that me sending it into Spyderco would be the most efficient course of action.

I am on my phone and cannot close this thread until later today.

Hi MZ9393,

You read the original post, didn't read the thread, and posted that you are disappointed in Spyderco? I'm disapointed that you would post a negative thread about a company on a public forum without even reading the information.

sal

I'll concede that I should've read more than the first page of this long thread before posting my opinion.

After reading the entire thread, including posts made after my own, it appears you are doing everything within your power to fix the OP's problem and I congratulate you for that.

As concerns the issues cited in the OP, I am no longer "disappointed" in the way it is being handled.
