Very disappointed with my Commander

Now I gotta go check my local knife store and see if the prices went up. If not, it would be stupid of me not to buy all of them right?

Where the heck are you getting those prices?? I just went to 4 different sites and the Commander is right at $190 on all of them.......
Hell, the CQC-8 is $259 at full price direct from Emerson.......

All of the favorite Sites . All prestige dealers.:(

NF, I think that it was Winston Churchill that said words to the effect, 'Bad news makes it's way around the globe, before good news can get it's pants on'. What I am saying, is that I have had nothing but good experiences dealing with EKI and none of my Emerson knives have been problematic in any way, shape, or form. EKI is a family run business rather than an impersonal large corporation. Can they make mistakes? Sure. Will they correct any problems? Absolutely.

Give a Roadhouse a try, NF and if you don't like it, you will have no problem selling it.
^^^ on the money A.P.F.

So a guy that maybe doesn't know much about knives cryes about an early lock up.....
Just USE IT and it will break in. Most everything needs a break in period. Have you seen a Rick Hinderer knife? very early lock up too as many in the industry. is it solid? then it is fine

Then what the hell are you doing on Emerson's forum? Perhaps you can find another forum to troll on?
I like the knives but not Emersons blogs. Nothing wrong with that. If you don't like it, you can go to the "Rainbows and Fairies" forum. "The forum where everything
is wonderful and magic!"

Bull. I found plenty of Commanders in stock for $189-ish.

Grand Prairie and a few others. One dealer said the prices were going up due to manufacturing costs. I'll pay for it. The "Chinese" market of
knives has never put out anything I like. There's just something special about USA made knives.

Move to W&C please?
I feel a dog pile coming on.

I have the following Emerson's in my collection (mostly new, but a few bought used):

CQC-7 STONE WASH (GIVEN TO MY OLDER SON)
CQC-7BT W/WAVE
CQC-7 STONE WASH W/WAVE
CQC-7BT W/WAVE (GIVEN TO YOUNGER SON)
CQC-8 BT CE W/WAVE HORSEMAN
CQC-8 BT CE W/WAVE
CQC-8 BT CE W/WAVE
CQC-8 BT PE W/WAVE (C8WBT)
CQC-8 SF PE W/WAVE
CQC-11 PE BT W/WAVE
CQC-11 CE BT W/WAVE
Commander PE W/WAVE
Commander PE W/WAVE

Of these knives, the only "lock-up" problem that I have had was on one of the CQC-11s, although I had to send it back twice for work, it was eventually returned fixed properly. Add to that,I sent it in the first time when EKI was moving locations, and the not getting it right the 1st time was understandable to me.

Maybe I have been lucky, (though the numbers bought would probably negate the chance of that), but I have no complaints about any of my EKI knives.

I wonder, did OP ever send his knife back to Emerson for replacement and then decide to sell it?
Or did he actually overpay for 2 of the same knife?
I see he is selling one and lists as being purchased directly from Emerson, but the one in this thread is purchased thru SMKW?
