"NEVER MIND EVERYTHING WORKED OUT COOL !" I pre-paid for my Oregon Knife Collectors Association 2020 club knife in January. OKCA GEC#23 Trapper two blade Antique jigged bone knife. This knife is very expensive and the shipping is very high. All the profits go toward the Oregon Spring Knife Show in April 18th. If you order out of state , you have to wait almost week after the show before they mail out the knives to out-of-staters. It is real hassel to buy this knife. I bought my renewal membership in November and I was ready in early January. 2/28/2020 , I spotted the GEC#23 Trapper schedule on the GEC web-sight. GEC offers the Tidioute #23 Trapper two blade Brazilian Cherry wood jigged/beaver shield , Tidioute #23LL Trapper Brazilian Cherry wood jigged/beaver shield and the Tidioute #23 Shane Sportsman's Club SFO two blades Brazilian cherry wood jigged/beaver shield. I am hoping Joan Mae Howard made a schedule listing mistake. Joan Mae Howard makes photo/description mistakes , but she is trying. If I can't have my Antique Jigged bone/beaver shield #23 OKCA Trapper two blade knife , I want my money back.

I just visited GEC's website and viewed the production schedule. I suspect that there might have been a mistake made in the listings because they have two SFOs listed with the same configuration. This is just an observation, I have no horse in this race. 20200229_064508.jpg

Did you contact GEC and ask them to clarify what was going on or just see the production schedule and come here and write a bunch of angry stuff about Bill Howard and GEC?
"NEVER MIND EVERYTHING WORKED OUT COOL !" I am waiting on a response from GEC !

Apparently.

Did you also try to contact the OKCA?
I'm pretty sure it's just an error on the production schedule. The Beavertails have only been produced under the Tidioute label to date, but the listing is under Northfield.

Of course things can always change, but history seems to suggest that it's probably a mistake.

Probably so. Usually, the "BAD" prefix is reserved for bad actions or deals, rather than simple and easily resolved misunderstandings. The OP seems a little excitable.

I'm not totally sure what the problem really is as the op isn't clear. Is he upset because the special club knife he paid for through the club, and won't be delivered until late April, isn't listed on the manufacturer's production schedule?

If so, it seems contacting the seller or the manufacturer and waiting for a response would be the best thing to do. No need to start a hysterical "bad" thread yet. And if for some reason you don't get what you ordered, contacting the club and/or the manufacturer would be the right course of action at that time. Further, the post office frowns upon USPS money order fraud. You won't be out your money.

I get that you are mad, but perhaps take a step back and think about the situation.

I believe he bought a knife to be made in Jigged Bone, and the production update description is for Brazilian Cherry wood.
It's more than likely an error in the web-site listing, but perhaps it is a case of nefarious bait and switch! Rather than wait until Monday for answers he has vented here.

"NEVER MIND EVERYTHING WORKED OUT COOL" I paid for an Antique Jigged bone/beaver shield #23 Trapper two blade "Northfield" Oregon Knife Collectors Association club knife. These knives are expensive because they raise money for the 2020 Oregon Blade show. Since I live in South Carolina , my knife has to be shipped to me. I will receive my knife in late April. GEC will make over 600+ Brazilian Cherry wood/beaver shield knives on this #23 run. When I spotted the GEC #23 production schedule , I flipped out. I found out about the #23 run in November and I paid for my OKCA club knife on January 2nd. I have two different club knives on pre-paid-ordered. I have six #23LL and one SFO two blade #23 Trapper knives on pre-order. I am ready to roll ! I don't own any #23 and these knives should open up easily between my knees/thighs .

Ah, so the knife club run is listed by GEC but not with the material he paid the club for.

You are not making your issue any more clear. Take the advice above and chill. I'm sure someone will get back to you during the work week. If not, reach out again.

Slamming a company, the owner, and complaining about a knife that hasn’t even been made yet...simply, wow. According to the GEC website, it says this

“NOTICE: DETAILS ON THE #23 KNIVES ARE BEING FINALIZED AND WILL BE POSTED SOON”

Do you also complain about the weather a month or two in advance?

Yes I do , but three months in advance.

Well I got my email response from OKCA. An OKCA Club member is contacting GEC tomorrow to straighten out the problem. OKCA asked me did I want a full refund on the knife. I want this club knife and I said ,"no". OKCA also told me to keep my big mouth shut on the Bladeforums. The OKCA 2020 club knives are sold out.
