Very interested in the A100

for once i'll beat lycosa to it lol, the A100 imho would be pretty cool w/a krein regrind, i generally dont care for regrinds on most EKI's but the A100 and the '12 would benefit from it imho.

Is the 100 a V-grind or chisel ? The QC7A that I just recieved, has me looking for another. Never thought I would stray from my Spydies, just a bit mind you.;)

the a100 looks less intimidating and for petty tasks, it will be much more acceptable to use it in front of people i would think. very simple design, looks attractive. no wave though.

not a chisel but not a std "V" grind either,

Well she came in! Don't know what the grind is but it's sharp :p
At this point, I am well pleased, my style of knife,no curves, flippers, widgets, chrome or whistles. A true down to business user.
Davy likes it!

Congrats Dave! How about a pic of your new Em?
Well, If I get off my duff, and read the instructions on that camera, then figure out how to load on the computer.I'd love to show some of my keepers.
Oh by the way, this is only the second day with this A-100 and I have at least 1/2 doz tiny nicks on my fingers , you'd think I was new to knives or something. Sure can't say it was dull out of the box,I'm almost willing to say, that this Emerson, is the sharpest knife/make that I have ever received.

Hey Dave,
No rush with the pics. Learn to use that camera first. Enjoy your A-100 and don't let it bite ya too much.:)

The A100 is a nice knife, but I still prefer the Commander for EDC. Here's mine.

I've got an A-100 in my hands on the desk in front of me as I type.

appearance wise...yech...I don't know if it's just flat ugly, or proper sleep medication, but it's looks are about as plain, jane ordinary as a knife can get. I think a SAK Tinker has more exciting curves. Having said that....It's also the reason I'm falling in love with this thing. a razor sharp spear point blade, a handle, and a solid lock-up, what the hell else could a guy want? I love it's, clean, efficient, and no frills nature, this has gotta be one of the coolest knives I've seen in awhile. It double ground, razor sharp, and has a very versatile blade shape. It'd make one helluva EDC. This one may very well become mine. I also think it'd be a real nice one to have out in the outdoors. It's obviously not a skinner, but I spend way more time fantasizing about cleaning animals than actually doing it anyways.:o I think it'll be fine for fuzz sticks, marshmallow sticks, carving spoons, etc. and of course it'll clean fish and game just fine in a pinch, if needed. Just not the number one choice for designated hunting.

Some folks might have the impression that it's small, slender and more PC. It's not. It's pretty much as large and bulky as any other Emerson. CQC-7, P-SARK, etc. It might be slightly more PC than some, but not enough to bother with, if that's a deciding factor for a person.

On my short list of druthers:

I wish the non-locking liner was skeletonized just a bit to cut a little weight.

It's only drilled for strong side, tip up carry. more options would be pretty cool.

It's a darn nice knife, and not likely to disappoint IMHO.

Thanks for your impressions. Would you be able to take a side by side picture of the cqc7 and the A100?

Those pics are fine. I think the A100 is a little too similar to the CQC7 for me to get it at this point, but I like the looks of the mini version

Im really looking forward to the mini A-100, It defo looks like a winner
