Dave, I love the knife. I really appreciate you doing this project and especially taking time to do the WIP. It is cool to see how it all came together.

This knife is special to me, not only because it was made by Dave Lisch but because it is my first Bowie. Some may say its still a small Bowie but before this I limited my collection to hunters and folders. So, this is somewhat of a milestone me and my collection. Dave and I started taking about doing this during Blade Show when he showed me a similar knife and I let it get away. His Damascus has always amazed me so I'm thrilled he agreed to make this gentleman's vest Bowie for me. Dave was patient with me finding the ivory as I brought one piece after the other to show him, only to hear: too big, too small, too thin, etc. Finally we found a nice piece here on BF from Mark Knapp and I think it turned out great..

Thanks again Dave, can't wait to see it in person.

Sweet knife, Dave. I really like that Damascus spacer! Congrats to Mark as well:thumbup:

Wow, that is really sweet! I love the way that vest pocket bowie turned out I would carry that day in and day out. The wip was amazing, I always enjoy seeing a well put together one such as this, thanks for the time spent puttin it together!

Thank you all. Gary it is a flat grind, I used a course round file with the sides ground flat to take some off the top of my tang slot some times I get it just right but this time I needed to file a bit to get things to line up right. it was a fun doing the WIP and using photo bucket to upload the pics made it so easy so I will do it again

Great looking knife, Dave.....you are really knocking them out of the park. The owner is justifiably proud, and I hope you get the opportunity to make many more of these beauties!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Thanks STeven I love making big bowies but I have really enjoyed making a couple of these smaller knives so for sure I will keep making knives in this size rang.

Congrats to Dave and Mark on such an outstanding project and a wonderful little Bowie....thanks for great WIP, too, my friend. :)

Dave
This is a fantastic knife.
Thanks for sharing some of your techniques I really enjoyed the WIP and defiantly learned some things.

That's a gorgeous knife, Dave! Everything about it is excellent, and it was nice to get another peek into your process as well.

Another beauty, Dave, thanks for the WIP . . . I know they are a lot of extra work!

Nice Bowie David. I enjoyed your process, thanks for taking the time to show us a look into your world.

I just spoke to Paul Long and he will be making a sheath for this knife. So, I have to wait a while longer to see it but it will be worth it.

Yeah, Paul made me 'wait'.......took a whole day for him to turn around the four knives I sent him a couple of months ago....mailing them back and forth took 4x longer than Mr. Long. :)

A fine Vest Bowie, I like everything about it. Congrats Mark and Dave.:thumbup::thumbup:
