Well, I was going to host a give-away for my 1000th post, but it seems I have 1019 posts now and I've surpassed the mark. But, I'll host one anyway.

This will be a Veteran's Day Give-Away; the give-away will close at the end of the day on Veteran's Day if nobody has the right answer, and I'll pick a post number out of a hat.

Your prize is a brand new SG-2 / titanium JYD II, which I've volunteered on behalf of J_Curd. Just kidding! I don't have that kind of money for a give-away, and I can't give Joe's knives away. Sorry!

Your prize is an all-black Scallion (model 1620B), new in the box. I'll also throw in a mystery prize. Ooohh!!! Here are the rules...

1. You must have at least 15 posts in the Kershaw sub-forum prior to this give-away.
2. You must not have won a Kershaw give-away in the past month.
3. I can only afford to ship to the United States, so please don't enter unless you're in America. (Sorry all my foreign Kershaw brothers and sisters.)
4. You must post a review of the knife and mystery prize within two weeks of receiving the package.

Okay, now, how do you win? All you have to do is post the branch of the military I was in, and what I did there. (No, this information doesn't violate OPSEC; none of this information is classified.)

Have fun, and be safe.

EDITED Rule #2: The past month, not two months. I was typing two different things at once. My bad.

Very nice gesture!:cool: I believe #2 might rule me out too, even at one month. I'll check...brb.

Okay, now, how do you win? All you have to do is post the branch of the military I was in, and the exact MOS (military occupational specialty). As an example, an 18B (18 Bravo) is a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant, in the Army. I'm looking for the branch (Army) and the MOS numbers (18B) as well as the title that goes with it (S.F. Weapons Sergeant).

Have fun, and be safe.

any of it

What the heck is what?

Well, J

For those of us who have not enjoyed the experience that is serving in our nation's military, which I do regret sometimes, I think it could be pretty tough to come up with a branch and unit as detailed as what you're asking for. Most guys here will not know how to designate in writing what MOS they're guessing. :o

Any way to simplify it?

Sure; what did I do in the military, and what branch did I do it for? (Please don't say something vague like "You were in the Marines. You killed people".) Something as simple as "you did amphibious assult in the Navy" or "you were Army EOD" is good enough.

Edited my original post to be clearer.

I'll stay out of this one for two reasons.

A - I am pretty sure I know the answer.

B - My knife didnt actually get donated.

Good luck all~!

Air Force. Air Crew Chief.
I tried Air Force and almost Marines. Air Force said no to my horrible eyes. Wanted to try the Marines, but was told not to because of my flat feet and messed-up knee. And all of that was before my head injuries (which resulted in tremors). Now I'm only good for the French.
Whatever you did, take pride in that you did it. I've had family in every war since the Mayflower. Even had one come over at the start of the Civil War. He jumped off the boat and signed up.
