I've never ran a floor buffer in my entire life. I don't know anybody who joins the military to become a custodian.

Those were part of the "other duties as required" for many of us from basic thru permanent assignment, especially in the Infantry, a few decades ago. (BTW, just EMs, Officers didn't get the opportunity).

I don't know anyone who joins to do KP, either, but... :D

Speaking of floor buffers, the MPs used to use dogs and come through the barracks looking for pot, see? So this guy I knew took an 1/8th oz. of finely powderized weed and mixed it with the floor wax when it was applied. Drove the dogs nuts. ;)

Ah, the good old days!:D

I forgot about KP and cleaning out dumpsters with a scrub brush, oh what fun we had.;)

This actually made me laugh, which I don't do too often. I'll send you something cool just for that story. E-mail me your address.

Everybody else, the contest is still going...

Happy to give you the lead in riffraff. Great story, it made me smile, too, and you get a bonus prize, congrats!

PG5768; I take it you were in the Infantry. 11 Bravo?

11C was my primary MOS (FDC back in the era of slide rules) and 71B my secondary (because I knew how to type). I'd ask you yours, but with any luck some one will guess it.

No, Signal Corps isn't too general; it's just not the right answer. The closest so far has been SladeGT40.
