VG10 steel?

Vg-10 in my Al Mar Shrike, easy to sharpen, good edge, doesn't hold it as long as my S30V steel knives but still very good.

BUT - I have some Shun kitchen knives with VG-10 cores, they've been holding up like crazy! Shrikes better than, say 440c, but the Shuns are like my S30V's.

Heat treatment, probably. The cause and cure of most problems...
 
Redguy, add Spyderco to the N690 list, their Volpe made for them in Italy by Fox uses it.
