P.S.- I have always felt like the Waiter is a very underrated model. I really wish they made it in Alox. If they made an Alox model, especially if they figured out how to make it so you could hook the bottle opener bottom on the side of the wine bottle to give the corkscrew more leverage, I'd be all over it. I feel like it's a very small and elegant model and a classier scale material would really make it shine when in fine company.

Can't really tell the date. If you don't like the scales you can buy a new waiter for less than $20.
Or you could get some replacement scales from swiss bianco. He offers different custom options, I think right now he has carbon fiber and G10, but occasionally he does stuff like copper or titanium.
