Video: I May Have Gone Too Far

I recall a story of the man who made the EK walking into a room and stabbing an oak table to prove that a gaurd wasn't necessary.
For the record I think the shape of the 16s handles are the second best of any knife ever. But the scales and attachment method are in my opinion cheap and not well done. I'm not sure what you are trying to disprove but without trying to be rude had you stabbed that tree full force you would be looking at a hand full of stitches.

I pasted the link. What am I doing wrong?

Not sure. It takes me there, but it doesn't play. I posted a video a few hours ago, and I'm having the same problem with it. I've not posted many videos on youTube. Do they have to be approved first?

If you put 100% force, into any motion, you'll miss your target almost every time. Not a safe practice with cutting tools. I was stabbing pretty hard, and don't really feel it was necessary to put any more force into it. If it was into any other material the blade would've pierced through. The point was to disprove the idea that the scales are unsafe due to them being so smooth.

Never mind, it was an add on I have for Mozilla that was the culprit.

If they upload they are approved. Approval happens in that process. Must be a network issue. Try going to my channel. Just search Foxwalk Primitive.

Nice video, certainly shows off the great ergos of the Becker handle design. In my opinion you did a good demonstration showcasing the strength of the design, obviously you wouldn't do this under normal conditions but at least we know a slick handle doesn't meant lost digits.

You do not know how to use a Blade Properly is all I could Tell from Video

You've missed the point entirely. Keep watching until you get it. [emoji6] Sorry, the blade isn't a vintage, sterile, limited edition that's never seen the light of day. [emoji23]

No, it's not safe to oil up your knife and stab a tree hence your nervousness and half hearted stiff shouldered stabs. The same reason you stopped swinging it into the stump. It was slippery. A couple more swings and your knife would have left your weakened grip. A couple of real stabs and you would have cut your hand. A hand full of oil on a smooth plastic handle is a recipe for disaster. You didn't prove what you set out to in my opinion. Watching the video and seeing where your hand ended up on those half hearted stabs and on those last couple hacks......
You May attribute your non accident to handle design and Mr Becker but the cheap smooth plastic did nothing for you. Perhaps a comparison to some g 10 or micarta? Please don't.

Wow. The proof is in the pudding, man. Those weren't half hearted stabs, and I could've chopped all day. There's no point in a comparison. The point was only about the stock scales ability to hold a safe grip. AND I fully admit it was unsafe to perform the test. Hence all the warning and disclaimer. But, you're right. Maybe I was too subtle with my warnings. Denial will subside as you accept the truth you've witnessed.

It wasn't a test to show grivory was better than g10 or micarta, all that was set out to prove was that the grivory wasn't a hindrance in normal use, and he did that by taking it to the extreme conditions-wise and managing to come out unharmed. if the grivory is not slick enough to cause problems when coated in oil, it is obviously going to be just fine when dry and oil-free.

abusing knives does not a true user make. What someone does with a knife in no way makes it less of a knife.
