Video: Randall's Adventure and Training Jungle Course, May 2011

"Once Upon a Time in the West". Classic sound track and classic western. I am really enjoying it in your videos.

Glad you like them! Its hard to think of a better soundtrack for a documentary about men doing things outdoors.

I've been home for a couple weeks. Still itchy but a lot better. I'm still losing weight for some reason. Might have caught something but I doubt it. I've been a lot more active lately because the weather is better and I'm getting ready for the B.O.S.S. course.

Neat.

You know I've got to ask it. What knife are you taking on that course? :D

I had to look that up. It's a 28-day course?

I was going to take my Mora, but I damaged it prepping firewood. Its more work to use one and it isn't as sturdy as I'd like. My go-to knife is now my ESEE-3. I'll be bringing that unless someone at Blade gives me something for testing.

I'll be sorry to see that last episode as this was a fun ride! Your last video reminded me of the insight I had while travelling through Honduras and Guatemala, that the difference in population demographics was so evident in the streets compared to N. America. Over there, every reproductively aged female seemed to have a child on the hip and one or two in tow. Kids, kids, kids everywhere on the streets. Often smiling faces, but so many children relative to adults. I liked how you captured people in your last episode. It gave a good feel for that village and makes me wistful for meandering the small towns in Mexico again.

I'm gonna get the schematic from Jeff. You still have to tie a couple knots but you can tension and untension the rope without tying or untying knots. Its really slick.

Yeah, but how do you get the rope across the river in the first place? Someone's always got to get wet, right?

You guessed it. Its mainly used to get gear across. I'm guessing the SEALS don't mind getting wet but some gear might.
