if I sent you a knife, nib, would you do it up?

rich

Sure, I would test it as long as you fully understand that there is a big risk of the knife being damaged, broken and the warranty would be void on most knives. :)

My ZT 0301 passed my 'ape' test, though I don't do spine whacks.
That is one hell of a stout knife.
Nothing wrong with that knife at all, IMHO.

What do you think of the blade shape as far as usefullness in day to day activity? I figured it'd pass your test just like the Strider did.

would fully understand that. have to decide what i would send you...

I recently obtained this knife. It is very impressive. Of course, I've not but it to any test of its ability. Never thought I need to but now I know for sure I don't. Thanks for showing us the knife go through a lite beating there.

They work very good really if you thin the edge out like I did on mine. :)

Ah, so that's the answer. I absolutely love mine, with the single exception that I wish it had been a tad sharper out of the box, and I'm sure no sharpening expert. Guess I just need to go ahead, bite the bullet and buy the Edge Pro.

. . . and in other news, thanks for beating the crap out of a model of knife I just bought, so I won't have to to it to mine. :D

So far it hasn't been subjected to any such "hard use," as I carried it around my office for the first week, opened letters w/it, etc., all as my secretaries laughed at me--and I didn't care. You know, sometimes [most, not all] ladies just don't understand a man's relationship w/his knife.

If you thin it out some it cuts much better. :)

Great review Jim, when i heard those sirens though i thought they were going to get you for cutting down the forest. :D That's a pretty tough knife that ZT-301.
Thanks now i know what to expect when i get one.

I got mine crazy sharp with a ceramic rod and a leather belt.

Today's use of my 301... I opened the foil packs of the ingredients for my lunch - baked chicken enchiladas. It masterfully trimmed the chicken breasts, too. Later, I opened the mail, too... a busy day for my weeks old 301 - a super knife!

Thanks for showing us how it will hold up, if an emergency presents itself.

You shouldn't be subjecting that poor knife to all that abuse.. :D

Nice, love the ZT series, thanks. No question these knives are possibly the best bang for the buck, tough production knives. One question, think you'll get the opportunity to test the Spyderco Military in a similar fashion? No, I do not own one and can't send one to you but I want to see how this knife holds up to all the hype behind it. Thanks again for the video.

Good Video Jim.Thanks for posting it.

That spine-wacking makes me cringe every time I see it.I personally don't see the use in it,but hey It's your knife.:)
