Happy Memorial Day to all the Veteran's out there know matter where you serve God Bless and Thank You.

Travis308, you can't do this to us. We need pictures! I'd love to see both knives, even if the Western is more appropriate for another sub-forum.

Finally remembered my photo bucket password and how to use it the w49 is in my brother's hands .

eBay is full of SOG misinformation. There's a guy on there that sells militaria that's been selling an old leather sheath marked with the SOG company logo as an original Vietnam era artifact. Sigh.

Thats a good one, my favorite version of that knife.

That really is a great example of an original SOG. On top of that it's a family heirloom too. Thanks for sharing. I agree from the couple of original knives I've had the pleasure to handle they have both been well made knives. Many of them do have the tendency to look rather ratty from the amount of honest wear many of them have received from the tough environment they've been exposed to.

The closest to that style was the Hattori version marketed in Europe for Boker. I would love if someone started manufacturing the version posted above complete with brass, leather and a blued 1095 blade. Blackjack is the only company that is already close with their Randall copies. Wouldn't be much of a stretch IMO.

I agree a great 6 inch fighter maybe add a threaded skull crusher/ glass breaker instead of the brass nut. I was cleaning out photo bucket and erased my picture's I will put them back up soon.
