Got it today. I like it so far. Obviously it has been around the block a bit and there are a few things I'd change, such as: contour the handles like John did for my Phoenix. Round them more since I've discovered that the more rounded handles produce less hand fatigue or hot spots. Zero grind. No secondary bevel means a better slicer. And since my new fav handle material is ironwood, well, I'd HAVE to get one with it and red liners.
The sheath is a simple one: thick and functional. No belt loop on it but John just tossed one together for the pass around. I'd have Ray make one with some customizations to it.

More later after I get to use it. And can whoever is running this send me the addy of the next guy so I'm ready to send it on next week? Thanks!

Took it outside and beat on it today. I did things I would NEVER do to a knife. Cut a can in half, then a plastic container, then made a feather stick with ease. Seems it thought those tasks kind of lame.

Soooo, I banged in onto a rock, breaking off pieces of rock and breaking my first baton in the process. Then I pounded it crosswise into a piece of treated lumber. Then I used the flat and tip of the blade to pound out a rusty screw in the lumber. I finished with another feather stick to show that the part closest to the blade was still sharp and the part I used to bang around would cut, but definitely has some rolls and dings to the edge.

Pics to follow. I'd trust myself with this blade in any situation.

Lol! I've been sharpening the dings out of it and it's coming around nicely. Will mess with it more later and do some food prep. I like a toothy edge so whoever gets it next can get it shaving sharp if they want, but I've never relied on shaving sharp as a benchmark.
If I get one, I'm going to ask John not to put any secondary bevel on it. I am digging this knife a lot. The blade to handle ratio is just right. One other addition for me would be a lanyard hole.

REally is a good looking knife. That's always te problem, too many ones that i want!

Wanted to show how I was cranking on it and how it went back true.

Used it to spread butter on my delicious bagel this morn.

Just for fun I'm throwing in some turtles sunning themselves from yesterday's walk.

Cool! I was afraid someone might abuse the viKtim by buttering a bagel! :P (just kidding - that is what I do with my knives!)

The bending is cool - and it looks laser straight after the bending - is that Infi or JK 01???

Thanks for the pictures!

Damn, good job beating on it. I can't say enough how much I liked it. Do you have a pic of it with your Phoenix? I am interested in the contoured handles.

I will probably get scalped for saying this but I think John's O1 beats INFI no question.

I really didn't think the knife would make it this far without somebody breaking it.

I was wrong!

I knew JK's were touch but we've had some serious testers who have come up with some very inventive tortures and the Viktim sure seems to be shining through it. Great tests rockywolf, thanks for the good work.

Thanks guys. I'll try to get some comparison pics up, as well as it doing some food prep. I have some veal in marinade right now. I'll be slicing it up for a delicious salad later today. I've got the Viktim sharpened up as well as my stones will allow and I will have it shipped out by the end of the week. No more tough tests, just food prep.
