Vintage Buck Knives

That would be one of the few exceptions, like the '18 forum knife. 😇
Isn't that a "civilian" version of the forum knife?

I wonder if that configuration (maybe with different covers? will become a standard production variation or replacement for the discontinue 2 blade 301 size knife? (I forget which 30x number it was.)
Yes, I think so. The forum knife was the same two-blade both with long pulls, but elk antler instead of burlap micarta, and CPM-154 instead of 420HC. That would be awesome if the two-blade 301 became a standard production.

The 700 series ran from about 1979 to about 2001 so I guess those could be considered vintage. A couple of the patterns had the Stockman blade configuration.

Buck 703 with the 1986 date symbol.

Buck 701 with no date symbol. (1979-1985)
I believe they were originally supposed to replace the 300 series, but due to the higher pricing they decided to still offer the 300 series and I'm glad they did.
there's something about the 705 that I do like, but it could never replace the 305 and I rarely carry it.

These might help, saved them from the Buck Knives sub-forum several years ago. Go hang out on the Buck sub-forum here at Blade, you'll be amazed at the variety of Buck Knives. OH

Has anyone mentioned the 301-sized single blade 302 Solitaire stockman yet?

Here's one with Charcoal Dymondwood and ComfortCraft nickel silver bolsters.

Briefly when listing the 300 series models, and I mentioned the 704 Maverick.

Basically there's are direct equivalents found between the 300 and 700 series, except the 302 and 704.
300/ 700, 301 / 701, 303 / 703, 305 / 705, 309 / 709 .
They're all the same configuration and size, but when it comes to the 302 and 704 they're both single blades but the 704 is smaller.

And here's a 305 compared to a 705.
