Charles, Love the UNION....very rare with the North America logo. BTW its OLEAN (there's no R). Here's another Oval. Its a REM. Perfect for the end of a watch chain.

Getting back to the thread and keeping up with Barry's pearl lobster here is a A. Kastor serpentine lobster (1876-1947). Nickel silver tip bolsters and oval shield. Measures 3". Charles

Here is a LF&C Sheffield pattern lobster. Landers Fray & Clark (1862-1965) with UNIVERSAL blade etch still visible. Has milled nickel silver liners and bail. Charles

This is an unusual pattern. Not in any of the books. I guess we can call it a "Curved Lobster". It's made by Robeson.

Barry: Very, very nice and I have not seen anything like it. It has the blade configuration of a basic sleeveboard, but that handle curve is something else. Condition looks excellent, thanks for posting this one, gives me something to hunt for. Charles

Here is a ZENITH /M.W.H. Co (1893-1917) serpentine lobster with shadow abalone scales, MARSHALL WELLS HDW CO 3" CLOSED. Many of these knives were made by NYK. Charles

Here is a little Judson Cutlery Co/ New York (1900-1940) made in Germany sleeveboard lobster. It has two blades, a scissor and a file. Knife is 2 3/8” not counting the bail. Milled nickel silver liners and bail. Charles

Item #142 is a Sheffield pattern lobster marked J. Koester’s & Sons / Germany (German spelling for Kastor) (1876-1947) and Norvell-Shapleigh Hdwr. Co. / St. Louis (1902-1920), milled brass liners.

Item # 217 is a Kent (another stamp used by Kastor Bros) Sheffield pattern lobster 2 1/4” milled brass liners.

this is a truly outstanding collection and has become one of my favorite threads.
I keep admiring all of these little beauties and try to imagine how they have made it so well through the decades.

In your honor here is a Hen & Rooster Sheffield pattern lobster marked on the reverse HERDER / GERMANY. * The knife is 2 3/4" closed.** There is some age spotting on the blades. Charles

You have a fantastic collection of old lobster knives Charles. Thanks very much for sharing them with us. These are two Victorian smokers knives. The first is missing its silver pipe tamper which was on a swivel on the left side. The second has a tamper which when extended opens the end for piercing cigars.

S-K thanks for the comments. That smokers knife with the checkered pearl scales is most impressive. I can see the blade etching, what is the tang stamp? Very nice old examples and thanks for contributing them to this thread. Charles

Thank you for showing some wonderful knives! I thought I would add a few that Bret888 & I are lucky to own.

The first one is an ivory Northfield Lobster. The knife is actually illustrated in the 1869 Northfield Catalog. The illustration shows 6 blades, but the price chart lists the knives at 3 blades.

I was also very happy to have been able to purchase this knife from my friend, Galvanic1882. It's an Electric Cut Co.

Kathy, There's nothing like an unusual lobster......those are both unusual. Great abalone on the Electric and the Northfield is downright strange. Now we have to find the 6 blade version! Good Luck, Barry

I hope we do find a six blade version! You have some awesome knives pictured here also. The Napanoch is a rare piece & the Robeson is such a cool shape. It shape reminds me of a banana lockback in a way.

The Northfield & the Electric are very dear to my heart. They are unusual and beautiful. Bret and I bought the Northfield in Lewisburg in 2011. I saw the Electric for the first time on that day in Lewisburg, but didn't get to buy it until this past month. Lewisburg is always a lot of fun & it was great to get to talk with you there.

I had started a Lobster thread on another forum & have posted a few of these there, but when I saw this thread I thought I would show a few of ours.
