Hopefully this isn’t imposing on the thread, but I just received this from a maker on here, Flat Rock Forge. I wanted something in the same flavor as these old Pumas, with upgraded steel. This is his version of the old Puma Hunter.

The Flat Rock Forge looks more like the Hunter’s Pal with a bit more of a belly for skinning. Very nice. I still like the Hunter’s Friend blade shape a bit more, almost a drop point. Thanks for sharing.
 
Glad I found this. Great pics of old and newer Pumas. My best Puma is the Skinner I bought back in 67. Cost was just over $25 I recall. Pumaster Steel stamped on blade. Carbon steel but never got a straight answer on which or exact composition. Seemed like a big secret. Mine still pretty mint shape. Should be it never got used.
