So I was thinking(so we're screwed)that there is a good amount of members in VA and the surrounding area to do a meet up or a camping trip. If we did do the camping thing we could keep it simple and hit Big Medows in the Blue Ridge where they also have cabins and rooms to rent or Skyland which is just a few miles away unless everyone wants to pack into the woods and really camp. As far as just a meet and greet I got no clue where to do that at? Now I'm no event planner so any help or if someone else would like to take this over please do....like someone who hunts knives I guess they would be called a knifehunter?...lol. But it's just an idea please feel free to take the idea and run with it.

Sounds fun to me! Let's get a little farther into the woods! Nothing like campfire knife talk!!!

Im in, schedule permitting,,,lots of good spots out towards Shenendoah..
Bonus points if booze is permitted on site.

I'm in MD but I'm interested. I have a little over 50 acres of land outside of Moorefield WV (2 hours west of DC) that we could go camping on if people wanted. It's fairly steep land but there is plenty of fairly level space accessible by a gravel driveway for people to pitch tents on. I don't have any buildings on the property or electricity or running water, but who needs that anyways?

We don't have level ground in WV. Interested depending on location

How can anyone say no to this!? I hope the plan works out for you it sounds really fun!

Hey! That's only about 3hrs from me....I'd love to join in on the fun. Count me in if timing and funds are right and the wife lets me go out and play.

I know that section well! During late July I hiked from Rockfish Gap up through Harper's Ferry. Never actually "rented" a campsite but used the shelters along the Appalachian trail and pitched my own tent.

Covered 175 miles in about 8 days and what a trip it was... Met 5 bear along the way! Skyland can be a bit pricey, but the view is amazing. Big Meadows too is quite beautiful and you can rent a campsite there. I "borrowed" site #51 and its picnic table for a lunch break. That particular one is nice as its further back and very close to a running stream for water. Decent shade and a bear box for food. From there you're only a few miles walk from some excellent sights.

Well this looks like it may happen! I'm in Richmond so I'm not far from any of the suggested sites. I used to live with in walking distance to Harper's ferry.....some of y'all may know legz! I bounced there for several years and work at vixens for awhile....lol

Lexi I bet if you show up so will everyone else...lol! You said it yourself (how can anyone say no to this) so you gotta make a guest appearance!

Well it looks like we got the makings of something here but I'm definitely not the one to put it all togeather so if someone wants to step up and say when where ect I'm all about it!
