Virus popups unbearable

I was on here, I don't get it anywhere else. It takes over makes a buzzing sound comes up just like what I posted before same thing only it says, Samsung note 5.

What I'm looking for is something like this:

It happens suddenly and takes over the entire page, you can't come back to get that link. The only link is on the warning page.

After looking through the code, there is no malicious script that I can see. One can conclude that the problem relates to one of the advertisers. Either there is an unscrupulous advertiser, or one of the advertiser websites is compromised.

I've been a registered user for about a year, with absolutely no pop-ups or even small side ads, I use Firefox with Adblock Edge (an add on for Firefox, not its own app), I also have AVG and Kaspersky anti virus apps, but I don't think I had any ad/pop-up problems before adding the anti virus, the pop up blocker took care of everything.

ETA: I'm using a Samsung galaxy S5

Yes, there is a malicious ad redirecting people. Spark will NOT put up with this; he has already fixed this one other time. I realize he's been slow dealing with things lately, but, did anyone bother to send him a PM???

ETA - Don't bother, I just sent him a PM notice.

And you're absolutely correct. If someone tries to say that it is intended by a site owner to redirect their users to a malicious site really have no idea what they're talking about.

There's a reason ad blockers have become so prevalent, this is just one reason. The only fix would be to install an ad blocking plugin or pay for a gold membership until Spark resolves it.

I sort of figured he would see this thread and the posts about the problem, but thanks for perhaps accelerating the process. It does seem to have subsided drastically though as I've only gotten it once since this morning.

I have looked at the site on my Android phone without logging on, and have had no problems. I use Opera browser with a pop-up blocker. I'd be willing to bet there's something in an ad doing this. Hopefully Spark can track it down.

Photobucket was unusable because of redirects until I installed adblock on my desktop.

The pop ups seem to be gone. So, yes it is possible to use a phone and not pay for a membership and not be attacked. Not, that I plan to never buy a membership again, just it's nice to when I choose to do so. 🖒

Seems like they were tied to the 300x250 ad zone at the bottom of threads. I've notified that ad network responsible and disabled that zone.

No. I'm only relating facts as I have experienced personally and those experienced by my Son as recently as yesterday. Whether or not the site is 'unusable' or not is an opinion that each person must determine his or herself.
The redirect feature is recent and it is a royal pain. Junior was quite frustrated with it. Said it happened every third post and there was nothing that could be done except log out then log back in. If one can handle that then I suppose that is the new joy of the Registered User status. It's nothing new across the internet. Other forum sites withhold certain Vbulletin features such as Editing Posts or Search options up until you purchase some type of membership. BF is merely catching up with the times. There's things you get for free and there's things you get for joining. If 'Redirect' has made the site unusable then consider a membership. A Basic Blade Forums membership is $10. Ten bucks. That's it. Think about it. There's Coach and there's Business and there's First Class. All get to fly on the same plane. All get to the same place. Just some get more amenities and thus the trip is more enjoyable. Bottom line Jill, if you want to play you're going to have to pay.
$10 and it all goes away.

Sorry grey you were wrong. About all of it.

Sweet! Anybody still getting the error, or did Spark quash the mighty script rebellion for good?

I used an ad blocking browser for the last several days and it worked. Now that Spark did whatever he did there doesn't seem to be a problem with chrome, either.
