Sal is fine if you want dry knowledge with no flair. Showmanship. Pizzaz.

In this category Lynn Thompson is the undisputed champion of our time. Sal sells you a knife verbally. Lynn sell you a knife physically.

My honorable mention is Greg Medford.
Lynn Thompsons videos are what really got serious into knives. Watching him beat the crap out of them really sold the brand for me

Even today nearly 20 years later: when I get a new knife I ask myself: "how would this hold up to a.cold steel test?"

I mentioned Sal because, besides being so knowledgeable and being one of the good guys, AFAIK he is the only owner of a knife company who regularly comes on forums and directly responds to questions and comments from users of his company’s products.

And does so with an endless amount of patience. Someone could call him an (insert insult of your choice here), and instead of responding in kind, he'd levy a calm, factual response about why the insult is objectively untrue, then be like "Anyway, thanks for your interest, let me know if you have any further questions."

I'll have to say "Stone Cold" Steve Austin but the only option is Lynn Thompson.Remember getting one of his videos in the mail and watching the outrageous tests.

Oh, yes. I recall one individual who was giving Sal a particularly hard time, post after post, and finally Sal said (and I’m paraphrasing but pretty close), “OK, thank you. Please don’t purchase our products anymore.” Had I been in Sal’s position, I would not have responded so kindly, especially as long as the other guy had been going on and on, with Sal doing his best to make him happy with the product. That was the “least patient” (if you can call it that) post I’ve ever seen from Sal.

What? No Zac Brown? "I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand, a cold beer on the way, a spider monkey in hand..."

I vote for Sal. The man has the patience and class of a Saint. Check out his "Shiny Footprints" policy and you'll see what I mean. You don't need "Pizzazz" when you're such a kind, knowledgeable face of the industry...in fact, pizzazz or showmanship would be superfluous.

Lynn Thompson for sheer flamboyance. Not saying he makes better knives but he has his crowd figured out. When he took a squirt of his pepper spray to the face that was an instant classic. My only complaint is he isn't selling body armor so we could watch him get shot wearing it.

Initial post was about 50% troll, 50% serious ( I like Thompson and Hinderer >_>)

So, yeah, I assumed this was a troll post, and made a sarcastic reply, which apparently wasn't recognized as sarcastic. The people I mentioned, apart from Sal and A.G., have zero votes for very good reasons. Lynn, Ernie, and Micky have many very vocal detractors (not Rick though), which is why I thought what I did. I don't really want to get into it more than that here. It's better that, if you really want to know, research it yourself so you get more than this man's opinion out of context.

I didn't vote or even read all the list. Any list concerning good knife makers on it with lying valor stealing P.O.S Micky "Strider" Burger on it is not worth my time or effort. Why you fanboys keep giving this worthless waste of oxygen any notice at all indicates to me there are less and less veterans and more and more mall ninjas on this particular subforum. You can throw Pelton in there with him. I saw his name at the bottom.Same lyin' scum.
Just a real veterans $.02.--PKV

Just a fun little thread here.

Judging them by their showmanship, advertising, personal character/honesty, entertainment skill etc etc

Not necessarily just on their knives

Vote and have fun!

I knew it was sarcastic but added them anyways.

That's why Mickey is on there
