Umm, kinda. Especially when you exaggerate.

STR, only one person posted that they had voted multiple times (Walking Man), and he was immediately told to stop doing so by more than one person.

For some reason you're trying to make it sound the the entire Busse forum was engaged in this. WHY????:confused:

Are you mad your "little green chiclets" were taken away?
 
I have read them. I saw one and it was apologized for but truthfully cult is not necessarily demeaning or negative by itself. Some of the loyal fans of many things openly agree its akin to a cult following. Anyway, I don't see that as a bad thing necessarily. If thats what you are referring to I mean.

I don't think I exaagerate. Maybe some posts have been edited. I counted 13 earlier my friend. And for the record I never once accused the entire fan base I said some. If that is what was interpretted it was not what was meant.

heh, WM probably voted a few hundred times by now. I imagine a simple perl script one could vote thousands of times an hour.

I have resisted stepping in but i would like to add my two pence (or 5 cents as you may call it.
This thread amply demonstrate that internet poll can be worthless. Fine.
So vote with your feet, leave the poll thread and don't participate.
It is a well known fact that "extremists" minorities are always eager and organised, and will all vote, where established majorities may not bother.
So even without multiple voting the whole poll idea is flawed from day one.

The worst consequence is that people are getting worked up against each other for a thread that has nothing to do with this forum

OK, now I deserve it, call me pedantic!

PS: I am new on this forum, as you can see, so am unaware of any previous history between the members concerned.
 
You are right Dave. It never should have escalated. I simply posted that first time that I was shocked at "some" of the guys for taking part in multiple votes and bam next thing I know its like a shock wave. Go figure. Its always over something small isn't it? Thats how any wave starts I guess.

Since no one seems to care about the ethics of the source holding the contest. And it isn't just me, mind you. This fact, and others about the whoring attitude of the knife magazines have been commmented upon MANY, MANY times. Do a search if you don't believe me. That's why it never really mattered in the first place, and ONCE AGAIN, if they really cared, they would have taken further steps to insure 1 vote/1 person security.
 
The "ethics of the source" are not what is/are in question here.

The ethics of the voters is.

What others do wrong is not justification for ones own wrong actions.

Those who voted more than once deserve the bad taste of the fallout.
