"Vultures"... who buy every damn knife in the forum and sell them for a premium

I agree its a problem to find certain knives, but persistence is key. Try checking ALL the knife forums at least once a day. You will score one sooner or later. A lot depends on what you are willing to pay though. I generally find e-bay to be a total waste of time when it comes to knives, YMMV.

i've run across a few guys over the years. they're kinda funny: they begged me to sell something to them, then whined they didn't have the cash, maybe trade or partial... but i know they buy $$$ knives a week, so that's not it. they still ask for a "special price", and they'll cherish it forever they've always wanted one...

so you relent. you TELL THEM it was mailed at 3:00pm TODAY USPS PRIORITY... here's a tracking number... and they mail you EVERY SINGLE DAY "why is it not here yet are you ripping me off"... lol. then they get it. no response they have it. no thanks. nothing. a week later, they got it marked up $150 to some chump who's falling all over it... and not QUITE representing the knife correctly either. lolz. well, shoot, i coulda made $50 more, but "special price" my butt :D

that's my favorite ;)

the guys who are making a few hundreds a month, and flipping knives because they want to see new stuff, but don't want to own it long term? i can live with that.

the guys that are wheeler dealers buy low sell high? no so much. esp when they whine ;)

I agree Bladite. I love the manipulators, either buying or selling. Always a song and dance. Until they get what they want. I call it doing the dingo

I'm still interested in how the OP would handle selling his collection in the future. How would he come up with selling values.
Also what is a fair deal to him on a military cts xhp. I went to ebay and the cheapest I saw was 269 or 299 . Did the one he missed go for 169. That would have been a great deal and kudos to the seller. 199 IMO would still be a fair deal.. I only searched brown military so maybe there were others.

The regular price now that I've seen for a Brown CTS-XHP Military is $180 - $200.
That's a fair price and it's not overly inflated.
People are always trying to make a buck.
Yeah, people are irritating when it comes to that.

Thanks bladechick777 , I would agree that range would seem fair considering the release prices. At least to me. I'm not really looking for a complete collection. Especially since I missed so many variations. Glad the knife industry looks forward. I tend to do the same. Also if I were looking back and collecting what I missed. I would be missing whats ahead, do to not having unlimited funds. I've notice that some not all who try and get everything all at once tend to burn out quickly. They quickly realize there is just a crazy selection of great knives and that's not even considering customs. I try not to think I missed anything. I just chose not to partake. happy using and collecting.

Heaven forbid anyone make a buck.Sell at a loss just to be fair.

If you think the price is too high, don't buy it.If you are getting low balled, don't sell it.

Everything finds it's level of worth.Other channels of trade abound.

No matter which side of the debate you're on, you'll never win the argument. Fairness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

Right or Wrong, when a sell goes up the fist to repond with payment gets the knife , now In some cases when i sell i will say I reserve the right to end any sell at any time at my discretion , and what i mean by that is if you want my knife I'm gonna research you on here and if you've talked smack about me or one of my buddies on here , or bought a knife and resold it for a premium your not getiing my knife, or If you've just flat out been a jerk on here , your not getting anything from me, Like i said i put that up sometimes unless I'm strapped for cash and a knife has to go , in that case i don't care who you are cash is king and I need money so do what you will with the knife just gimme my money.
