W W Y M (What would you make)

<warning: vile pun ahead>

I just realized that Johnny Depp is playing as the upcoming Lone Ranger sidekick in an upcoming movie.

So you could make any kind of knife you want, engrave Johnny Depp on the handle, and call it a Tanto.

<you were warned>

Alright so my drawing skills are not good.......but I think I have a decent shape to start with anyways. Here's my template in hardboard. What do you think Patrice ? This is version 3.01.06.01.... lots of hard board was harmed during this process !

Funny you should post that Jake Powning sword. It has been my desktop background for a while to study it.

Hey Stuart
I know what you mean.... I am a curious how he does it. I think theres a ton of carving hours invested. Larry

One last idea before you start grinding.
How about a Keris?
You could use wood instead of all that gold (too much bling)

BTW: they have magical powers as well!

I probably would not pair those two. Too much pattern competing with each other.

I agree with the dagger suggestions, though.

Greg,
I think you're right. I am going to have to re-think the masur probably. Thanks for chiming in. Larry

Well no need for me to draw anything, that looks like a good starting profile Larry. With a limited width like you have there, you are limited in what you can do. The trick for it too look right as you surely knows is to make sure you don't have any flat spots in your curve. My layout skills are not good enough so that is something I do by eye when doing the final tweaking of the profile.

Are you going to do a dagger grind on it? That would look very nice, not fun to do but very nice. ;)

Thanks Patrice, I think it has to be thinned down even more. I agree its got to be done by eye, so we'll see when I lay it out on the damascus. Larry
