I went to my local Wal Mart this morning and they have the tins out! The knives are a set of 3 slip joints, 373,375, and 379 with "COLLECTOR'S EDITION 2007" on the big blades, and a 110 with rosewood scales and a mirror polished blade with Alfred C. Buck written in cursive on the blade. 2 of each of them looked lonely so I brought them home with me!:D

I hope the wal marts near us carry them this year...
I may need a pair of those 110's!!
Any pics yet? :D
Please? ;)

Are the slippies made in the USA??? Pictures please, I am half tempted to go to walmart right now.

373 and 375 are imports, not sure about the 379.

I'll have to make a visit myself now for the 110:D

I don't have access to a camera right now, i'll post some pics when I do.

The slipjoints are made in China, but they are nice looking knives!

Damn, I suspected as much, what kind of case does the 110 have... too many questions, I'm off to walmart.

What was the price?? Where they in the display counter or behind the glass counter?

Someday, when the Chinese revalue their currency (as eventually they must), these knives will no longer be available at such ridiculous prices. Sure, nobody likes "Made in China" on their knives, and it's true that they aren't the same quality, but still ...

There is something missing here..

Wait I know it is pics.

I am going to have to go to wal mart and to say I was close to one yesterday and didn't realize they were out.

At that time (when China revalues their currency and as chinese labor costs go up) not only will prices go up......the quality on most of their knives will go down a little.

Thus the current crop of excellent Chinese knives will go up in value.

This honeymoon period of superb workmanship at unrealistically low prices is not going to last many years.

Maybe,,,,, Not everyone that buys Buck brand knives are addicted like we are. They buy because of brand name recognition as well as price. If the prices of the 37x and 38x knives go up dramatically, those folks will simply switch to some other knife back in the price range they want.

Kids buying knives for dads as gifts and such are more likely to go for cheap versus brand name. Moms buying knives for gifts, are more likely to buy one based on brand recognition first, then price.

I believe Buck will do all they can do to keep the pricing levels and quality aimed at the future buyers. The kids

here I am babbling incoherently again...
