Wal Mart Vantages

Try the Canton store--60 miles east of big D. They had them awhile back, I bought one.

I had to read that twice then check your location.

Canton, MI is only 20 west of our "Big D" (Detroit). I thought you had your directions confused and your odometer set to Kilometers. :D

The only Wal-Mart near me is a very small store and doesn't carry them. It was one of the first in the area.

They're building a big store about five miles from me but it isn't scheduled to open until April. Doubt I'll find one there.

Sorry about that--I was talking about Dallas, Texas. I went to my Canton, Tx. store tonight and they were sold out of the big Vantages, but bought a Odysee, and a small--345. The 345 was 15.00 plus tax. They still had more, might have to wait untill next week. Our daughter and son-in-law live in South Lyon. We go up there about 2 times a year.

I am back from my east Tex vantage hunt, the Canton w/m was a bust for dymondwoods so off to Gunbarrel City and Athens. Picked up a nice wood pattern vantage in Athens but the blade edge grind is very lopsided:mad: no closeout pricing at those stores btw.
The Canton store had the 345 closed out for 15.00 tonight, I bought one and an Odysee for 20.00. They have the close out stickers on the knive picture in the cases,

Sorry about that--

No worries. I just found it funny that there was a another Canton near another "Big D". I have a couple co-workers that live in South Lyon. Nice area. I'm about a 45 minute drive from there. I have a friend and former co-worker that lives in your Big D.

Well my local Walmart had them all marked down so I got the 345. Have all 3 of the large ones now.

I'm just curious, but what did the Vantage 345 Select/Dymondwood's sell for before and after the discount at Walmart? I just recently bought 6 of them from a seller on the auction site for $100 delivered ($16.67 each).

Hmmm, seems a little steep at that price. Here's three of the ones I got, are they the same?

From what I've seen that is a smokin' deal on the avids!
What's the sellers name, and does he have more? :D

I would have gotten one at the regular price, but trying to find a sales person behind that counter here is down right difficult. I was fortunate to find a guy there putting things under the counter.

Ooops, that should be Vantage 245 SELECT/Dymondwood. Those are the one's that Walmart was selling I guess.
I checked and the seller isn't listing anymore of these, and I couldn't post it here anyway. ;)

19.99 for the paperstone & 34.99 I believe for the dw. I know I got my dw for 16.99 BIN\Make offer

Locally they were

0345BLS Ecolite Paperstone $19.97 ($15.00 on clearance)
0345GYSWM Select Dymondwood $34.97 ($30.00 on clearance)

Chris you got me curious so I stopped by the closest Wally in El Paso and no Vantage.

An Avid would have a Sanvick Blade, the WM version is a Select with wood handles. The Select, Avid, Pro follows the blade steel not the handle type...

It must be a local thing as mentioned. My local store carries nothing but 110's
and the Pak-lite, and one fixed blade model.

Yes I know, I corrected myself in a later post. Avid was a typo in my original post and was meant to be Select.

After seeing this thread I happened to be in my local Wally world today. Walked back to the sporting goods section and lo and behold, they had one 345 Vantage select with the Dymondwood. Was not on clearance, cost was $34.97. Picked it up any way. Looks just like plumberdv's.
