Just found his source. So not cool. I should be able to read a thread on a knife forum without having an episode a week a way ruined for me.

On a side note, I guess Gerber better start producing katanas.
 
So who's going to try to watch the entire marathon this Sun.
It's the only thing keeping me from spending 2.99 an episode on PSN

Check out the rest of his posts in the thread and you'll see he was spot on. The TV series has, at this point, diverged very, very far from the comics.

Were this a thread that said "Walking Dead Spoilers" I would agree with you. But when it is a thread where people are discussing the episodes after they air and someone just blurts out a major spoiler from an episode that has not happened yet...that is just ignorant.

No, just somebody who uses google. The spoilers are not hard to find at all, but for those of us who would rather be surprised and aren't out looking for them, some courtesy would be nice.
 
Hey all,


I think just my opinion . that everyone who is currently alive on the show was exposed to the Virus and has it inside them any when they DIe either Accidently or Purposely then the Virus activates upon death and reanimates them into a zombie,,,,,,,, the Theory about Shane cutting his hand in the school bus and then stabbing the zombies and contaminating his hand through the Cut is valid,, but then i was thinking,,, That doesnt explain the hostage that SHANE killed in the woods by Breaking his neck. The kid reanimated without any wounds or having been bitten or scratched by any other zombie. I think the Only Explanation is that everyone has the dormant zombie virus in there bodies but it is only activated upon Death.

Just my 2 cents,,,,

Has it been confirmed to be a virus? I forget what Dr. Jenner said... and I just rewatched all of season 1 last week. Those last two episodes were boring and I couldn't pay attention.
 
SPOILER ALERT...kinda... about the whole...who has it vs. who doesn't....



EVERYONE has the virus, it just doesn't take affect until AFTER you die. A bite from a walker is highly lethal due to the bacteria I guess but I think I read that some are immune but I could be wrong about that. But, once they die, EVERYONE will come back unless, as usual, their brains are bashed/stem is cut...

Now that is what I read as being fact on another forum which is sort of a contradiction in terms all by itself so do what you will with it. It does make sense though.

Contraction is another discussion but some say it is mother nature thinning the herd...

So it's a virus for sure?

This has been mentioned a few times already within this thread, but it's only been confirmed in the comic so far except for the virus part. It looks like the TV series is heading the same way. It's been all but said already that this is the case. Some time in the next episode or maybe next season, Rick, Carl, Daryl, and Glenn will probably be discussing with the rest of the survivors how Randall and Shane reanimated without being bitten.

Anyway, everyone is saying it's a virus--I missed this part in the show.

Here's what I know:
  1. Jenner (the CDC scientist) was studying it in a vial and accidentally spilled it, and that triggered the decontamination to destroy that sample.
  2. Jenner took a blood sample from everyone to test them, and he cleared them all. That doesn't necessarily mean they came back negative--he was planning to blow up the lab anyway to "spare" them.
  3. Jenner: "It invades the brain like meningitis... then death." Possibly referring to the bite, not the cause of the reanimation itself.
  4. Jenner: "It could be microbial, viral, parasitic, fungal, [or the wrath of God]."

The more I think about it the more I think that whatever the CDC Doc told Rick is pretty much useless at this point given all that's happened. In retrospect it seems like it was more of an attempt to keep the viewer guessing more than anything just like the original black guy and his kid, just like Meryl (sp?), just like....

We know Lori's pregnant (or at least was), we know (for the most part) how the virus works, and nothing else I can think of has any significance other than letting Rick know that one of the group had some sort of disease...
