Wallet EE / Survival Kit Field Photos

WTF is that sarglobaltool? I clicked on that link three different times and had the PC lock up. There must be ads up the ass on that thing or something. :D

Here is the pic:

Cheers,

That looks interesting.

So, does that thing combine with the titanium comb to make some type of James Bond device or is there more stuff on the site that I am missing or...what?

The website is set up as a blog and doesnt lend itself for quick view of items. There is some interesting gear and all usable - non Bondish....more like the Perrin (Fred not Mike (no slight meant)) type.

Cheers

Well, I am very impressed with their signal device. Nice kit!

Thanks for posting. I gotta figure out something gear-wise for my son, he made Eagle Scout and is just waiting on the ceremony. An Izula would be cool, but there is such a stigma against fixed blades in the scouts. I already got him more than three good folders and a two good multitools, including a LM Wave. Any ideas?

I'm ordering one of these kits straight away.

I also think stuff like this is a real strong point for ESEE...no one else is putting stuff together like this at reasonable prices (assuming this kit is reasonable..) with input and discussion from customers.

That folding dog tag knife/mirror looks cool..how "off the hook" was off the hook concerning price?:D

Perfect for E&E from those nasty county park rangers where I walk! I really need one.

They offered them to us for 35 bucks

Yea that is kind of steep. It might be great for specialized crews or whatever, but for the average Joe...I'll stick with my dog tag knife/mirror.

Even against a minimalist tool like the Izula?

I know they are going P.C., but good grief. Why not go all the way and just have the stigma against knives altogether. That's coming next anyway, it's just stupid. The same "threat" to life and limb exists with a Izula as it does with a folder as far as cutting or falling on it and the Izula would actually be safer from the standpoint of never failing.

Congratulations on him making Eagle Scout, though, good deal for him! :D

Appreciate it..I probably have til spring break or so..its all H.S. rugby right now..He totes a Spyderco Native right now..that's his fav....I bought a cheap new Meyerco Necklance and put a good edge on it with a Reeve coil on the pommel and he took it home last time he was here to use for firebuilding...waiting on a report to see what happens  if the P.C. police don't ban that...I'll get the Izula for him.

Well, if there is only a stigma and not a Troop ban on it, I'd say let him take it and stand his ground that it's actually safer than a folding knife. The Izula isn't going to, inherently, cut or enter deeper if it is used negligently or accidentally, than a folding knife. And, that being the case and since it will never fold, it is actually safer than a folding knife of the same blade length.

I can understand, due to liabilities, why they might not want him toting around something Kabar size or larger. If you slip with that, that's a bad injury. Not that a pocketknife cannot send you to the hospital, because it can. So can the Izula. But, you know what I mean. It will be up to him to defend it in his own words. But, hey, you can coach him.

This is all about being a man. It's all about using tools intelligently and effectively and not being fearful of nonsense. At least that is what The Scouts are supposed to be about.

And Robert Baden-Powell, wept. I can't believe that even a very small fixed blade would have to be explained other than in the most Draconian areas of the country.

You got it straight...I think he might have some leeway now with his troop that he has made Eagle and he has actually been teaching firebuilding to others for quite a while. Gonna have to txt him and ask for an update on this subject.;)

Well, didn't mean to get way off topic on the thread
