I went to wally world today to pick up another Spidy native which they don't have any more and they have redone their knife display.

after reading a lot comment here, I looked at a few Kershaw's...very nice but I didn't find one without a liner lock (under $50 that is)....just not a fan of liner locks.

I picked up the Buck 110, what a deal ! but both of the ones they had in stock had some issues ( just finish issues, but I wanted a new knife to be right, since it was just out of the box.

I will probably hit another store to check the stock of the Buck 110's

Did all of the store quit carrying the Spiderco?

Any other place to get the Buck 110 for that price?

Wally World has the Kershaw OD-1 with frame lock for $39.95. Great knife for the price.
No more Natives at Wally World. A good deal is gone.

How about the Kershaw Barrage? It is a frame lock and is only available at Walmart. GOOD LUCK! Kevin :D

The OD-1 is a frame lock:

whoops, my mistake. It's just like the pic....just wanted a different type of lock

The 110 IS the best deal at walmart.I've gone through their whole stock to find the best ones. They aint got nuttin' else to do.:)Noone will have it cheaper to my knowledge.

Barrage framelock manual opener CE, OD-1 framelock flipper PE, and if you get lucky an S30V Spyderco Native on Clearance for under $30.

They used to carry the Spyderco Native 3 with S30V blade. However, seems like they've shrunk down their selection a bit. I'd probably just go with the Buck 110 or Kershaw OD-1. Besides that, I'd probably pick up a Leatherman Wave.

funny... I was at Wally World yesterday and decided to swing by the Knives... there was only ONE knife that drew my interest... and it was the Kershaw OD... I had to beat off the salesman with a stick to leave me alone to browse, and then when I ACTUALLY saw something I wanted, I waited for like three minutes and nobody showed up... so I walked and never got to actually check one out... But the picture behind the glass looked OK!

the zing is available at wally world but it is a liner lock (a very solid one), IMO its a great knife

I was lucky enough to be able to review a Barrage for Thomas. Very impressive knife, especially for the price.

The OD-1 is one heck of a knife too.

I looked over the new Kershaw trio, Barrage, OD-1, and Zing! when my store got them in stock. My store has a counter, so all of them were boxed. I only found one of each of the first two that were centered and not loose or over-tightened, while all of the Zing! models were perfect. I picked the Zing - despite that funky-looking blade. It's G10-like scales are nicely done - good grip yet no DNA sample left - at least on the grip. The flipper was easy to master - and uniform from sample to sample. My store had four or five of each - and five Skylines, which I didn't try.

I love the Spydie Native - great EDC - long edge-holding with that S30V. Well worth it's usual price of $65-$75 mail order. Spyderco refused to sell more to WallyWorld to be sold so cheaply last summer - most stores ran out quickly. The Buck 110 is such a great buy that it overshadows - and spoils - all other 'deals', that Zing! included. If the brass is tarnished, Flitz/Semichrome, etc, metal polish will bring it back in short order. What was wrong with the in-stock 110s?

If you get away from WallyWorld, consider the new Buck 347 Vantage Pro in S30V - MSRP $75. I got mine last month - still spotty availability - for $56 inc s/h. Great knife.

Another vote for the 110. I just picked one up (for the 3rd time) yesterday. I was getting the itch for another knife while I was shopping for some store supplies. I looked at the 110 at Wally World, but thought that maybe a 112 would suit my needs better, and I really hate buying what I don't have to from them.

Gander Mountain was on the way back to the office, so I thought I'd check out their 112 prices. Heck, they wanted 10 dollars MORE for their 112 than their 110. I just decided to go with the 110:thumbup: I haven't owned one in 6 or so years as I started to accumulate other knives. I figured it was time to go back to my roots and carry something that my father swears by.

My dad is not a "knife guy". He can appreciate them, but he has basically carried a 110 on his hip for as long as I can remember, probably longer than I have been alive. It has always served him well, and he has needed nothing more. As a construction business owner, he uses it to cut plastic, and ties, and dig mud out of his boots, and even loans it to one of the workers when they ask for it....y'all know how that usually goes when a non-knife carrier asks to borrow one of your own.;)

About once every 2 months he'll show up in the office and ask me to sharpen the blade up for him. Scarred and dinged and rolled from abuse. Pocked with grit and grease and plastic and tar. It always sharpens out. It always shaves after i get done with it. When I think of my dad, I think of a Buck 110:thumbup: A chunky, bombproof slice of Americana knife.

Nothing wrong with them. But you can always be picky and a few will have a bit of blade play,a couple with not quite perfectly even edges.Ect...Might as well get the best ones. The clerk always seems happy to stand there and shoot the breeze. You will get the nylon sheath as opposed to leather, but it's a good one with horizontal carry option.

The Zing handle is injection molded polymide. Not sure what the difference is between that and G-10 but I guess it is different enough to warrant the name. I feels slipperier than my G-10 scales on my Skyline. Speaking of Skyline, you need to try the Skyline. It is now my best (smoothest) flipper after some adjustment and a re-lubing with PTFE. It also opens as fast as my Zing. The Skyline's very light weight is also worthy of note.

Yeah, I got my Native from WallyWorld less than 2 months ago on clearance for $30. It was tucks away behind all the Buck, Gerber, Kershaw and Victorinox boxes in the locked cabinet. Just dumb luck that I spotted it. I was searching for this knife for months ad all the WallyWorlds in the area.

w00t!!! They carry this!?!? I am sooo getting this if I ever find it. It'll be just like my Native search all over again.

I have to admit, part of the fun of getting these knives is the "hunt".

Oops. Sorry for the hijack.
