Wally World Score

I bought a couple of packs of them because of the price. I've used them several times backpacking (light duty use as they're inside my pack serving as lightweight "organizers") and bicycle camping (heavier duty use as they protected things from the rain inside my leaky bike trailer and some were packed with heavy/hard-edged items). They performed admirably.

I think they are a great bargain and I'll be picking up another package or two.

sure wish I could go back in time. Chris

I hear ya bro - I tell my wife all the time that should have been born 30 years before my actual birthday.

Well, there are trade-offs. You'd be living in a segregated country full of hate in that department. There'd be the worries of WWII, Korea, Vietnam. Fear of nuclear attack, the nastiness of McCarthyism, etc.

Grass is always greener, but we've really got it pretty good thanks to the folks who fought through some of the stuff I mention above. No guns & outdoor gear at Wal-Mart these days, but Academy Sports just down the road is selling both at a record clip.

I don't think these are quite "water-proof". Didn't say it on the package, but I've played that game before and had similar results my friend.

I only buy the ones that say WATERproof on them. I WILL go test them later on though, it is important to know! Alot of times these guys rely on the air that is also trapped inside. There is a dry bag company here in NC that we should go talk to, I'd like to know how they are so magical :P

Yeah, I might buy a pack to use as stuff sacks, but the heavier-duty dry bags are what I'm putting in the yaks.

Yeah... these things are mis-labled. They call them "Dry Sacks" which people might take to mean "dry bags." They are what I refer to as "stuff sacks." I have several "dry bags," but they are heavy rubberized nylon bags I use canoeing, and a whole different animal from a lightweight "stuff sack" that one would use backpacking.

I bought a set of those bad boys last year before our annual Buffalo River float trip. Very decent gear for the $$$ for sure. We use these in conjunction with the plain old yellow Ozark Trail dry bag. Have had good luck thus far. They are a perfect fit in the old W.S. Pamlico 100. Having your junk safely stowed and bone dry lets the trip go by much smoother. I also rigged a "deck bag" with a mesh laundry bag, some para cord, and a bungee. Works great, and total cost was about $3.00. Keeps small tackle box, bug spray, sunscreen, etc. readily accessible, and yet secure, even after an "uh oh".

I've been using these for a while now. I bought them for use as stuff sacks, not dry bags, per se, so I haven't been dissappointed. When I go canoeing, I'll take the biggest dry bags I can find and use them as a pack liner, and use these as organizer stuff sacks. Can't beat 'em for the price.

Folks,

I can't seem to find these in my local Walmart- I looked this AM on the way in from work. I assume they are in the camping aisle?

Thanks!
Regan

I like them. My wife picked me up a pack last night and I put my FAK stuff in the orange one and my wool socks in the small one. They appear to good gear organizers and apparently somewhat water-resistant... For $10, its a good score.

I have a set. Been using them for a year or so. I keep my rain pants and jacket in one. Odd stuff in the others.

Good for the price, and makes packing somewhat easier....just grab and go.
