Wandering in the Africa bush

Sweet, alot of cool animals. Zebra pics were my favorite, so were they black with white strips, or white with black stripes?

Great photos, thanks for sharing!. I too have always wanted to visit South Africa and am close to envying you living there. :) And, believe it or not, this book is very high up on my wtb list. Your country's biome diversity is truly incredible and unmatched anywhere else that I am aware of except, possibly, for Texas.

Would it be too much if i too would ask for more pics. I had a friend who traveled Africa in the early 70s. The stories he told me were amazing. Post pics please and show us on the map where in SA did you go, If you dont mind that is..

What should one fear the most there ?

Stupidity :) Be aware of your surroundings and when things look our of place ....like one white and thousands locals ......move out ASAP. There is a reason why you are the only European ...... look like prey and you will be eaten :D

Hey Boet! Nice to see the Bushveld again! Here in the UK spring has started and we'll soon have our usual short summer. Looking out my window I see pretty red brick houses with lots of green belts between them, but walking in the outdoors here is very tame.

To all those who want to visit Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and hopefully soon Zimbabwe) are all worth visiting as they all offer excellent facilities and good hunting. However, if you want to tour and not hunt then go in the African summer season - it's much prettier, although it's harder to spot game as the bush is denser and animals don't need to come to the waterholes to drink. It's also the rainy season and there's nothing quite like smelling the rain when it hits the soil in Africa. It's a mixture of dust, sweet grass, dung and sweat.
To the hunters - a friend of mine guarantees 7 species in 10 days hunting. If you choose Namibia, you could be hunting within 2 hours of checking through customs at Windhoek International Airport.
Aubrey - enjoy the good stuff. Stay safe - keep 'em sharp, keep 'em loaded. God bless.
