Come on SAR HOGs! Tell us what you want in this special edition SAR knife being brought to you by the Busse Company Store. . . We've been working on some ideas but really want to hear what you guys have to say!. . .

If we can get it together in time, Skunk will be "bringin' it" to the Eugene, OR knife show. . . .

Skunk is insisting on a parachute for the knife that packs into a small front pouch on the sheath that would traditionally hold a sharpening stone. . . It is auto deployed by an altimeter switch. . . I've included a shot of JWB to be used for medicinal purposes only! . . . Other than that we are pretty open to your ideas!

Let's make this a cool one guys!!!

Again, I DO NOT WANT DRAWINGS OR COMPUTER GENERATED IMAGES!!!!. . . Just ideas and input on blade length, intended purpose, what you want the blade to do, handle material, blade shape, etc. . . .

Jerry :D

LOL! This is going to be a good one:cool:....I just have that aching Credit Card feeling!

OMG! do you realize how many of these guys are running around mt hood looking for big foot ?

6"

Awesome!

Id rather the pouch hold an extra miniature JWB than a parachute:D:thumbup:

Kinda like the old St Bernard skits

A Busse SARsquatch?! I don't even know what it is, but I want one!

I'LL TAKE IT!!

:D

This is going to be interesting. Since my INFI dreams have almost come true with the Muks, I'll sit in the bleachers awhile on this one. Good on you Jerry, nice move!

say "SARsquatch" three times as fast as you can and it starts sounding like "SARscotch"

4.5 t 4.75 inch blade, straight edge and flat spine, 3/16, canvas micarta for gripping, rounded pommel for pounding but still needs the rear talon hole, maybe a thumb ramp or thumb serrations.

I like where your head's at Stinky!

4.5 inches of actual blade length. Very, very small choil usable for sharpening only. Rounded pommel, no lanyard hole (the rivet holes work fine for lanyards) with a small extension of blade tang ala the groovemasters. Drop point. Micarta. I will think of more later.

S.A.R. = Safety Axe Revisited, I think it needs to be a small hatchet or axe that has a sharpened edge on one side and a flat surface on the other for hammering. Also, a hollow handle for the JWB, "In case of emergency" when the Sasquach is about stomp on you!

Thumb ramp, not serrations/grooves!
Please not a clip point!

How about a combo! I like what skunk mentioned, but pair it up with a Ulu type Axe.

The SarUlu combo!

My thoughts pretty much echo what Skunk posted. 4-4.5 inch blade. Drop point or dare I say PD/Taliwhacker blade shape? It'd be nice to see a nice beefy tip for penetration/slight pryin ability, but also keep it easy to sharpen in the field. No recurves or teeth. Flat spine for any possible batonning, and the round or flat pommel idea is great if you need to stike it into anything.

Having a slight thumbramp would be nice too, to help act as a guard and keep you from slipping when wet or slippery.

5.5 or 6" spearpoint blade with a slight recurve and a false upper edge. Raised thumb ramp with fine groves. And a Eu-style handle with finger grooves. Rounded skull crusher for tampering.

U make ...I buy!

Steel heart size for chopping annoying branches in the way. High flat grind to reduce weight and improve slicing. Drop point or straight spine for digging/prying into things. square pommel for hammering.

Love it!

They're already on their way.... The ASH-LE's!:D (Except for the square pommel ;) )

6" (.25 to .32 thick) blade, drop point, saw back spine (for cutting a bat to wood knock and call more Saquatch), thumb ramp with grippers, birds beak pommel (for smashing windows for rescue), since it is "SARsquatch" a brown coating with a brown/tan handle, can it smell bad too?
