Want a No Choil Shaman?

Yes - those pictures were posted in another thread here. While I like the modifications, the knife is no longer a Shaman because the most distinctive feature of Shaman is its fat blade.

That's why I kept bringing up the PM2. It's a more natural candidate for a no choil blade option.

Sal seems to have a design in the works that he's excited about and it sounds like it's based on the Shaman.

I'm eager to see it.

Don't own a shaman yet, I'm shooting for the zwear version as well, but if I don't grab one I'll be fine with S30V.

SubMicron SubMicron , if I understand right you say changing the tall blade of the shaman would make it a different knife? I agree that the PM2 might be a better candidate for a choil delete while keeping the rest of the knife closer to unaltered. But a completely new blade on a shaman handle might be cool.

However, the tall blade and prominent choil are probably what has kept me personally from picking up a shaman. I Like that modded shaman posted earlier, I like the general asthenic, as well as feel of a blade more in line with the handle.

A shamanh with a stout, in line warencliffe could turn into an awesome work knife.

I've recently acquired one. With it in your hand, you'll probably like it a lot. Like with other Spydercos, the ricasso keeps whatever you're cutting out of the choil so there's no issue.

I also like the regrind shown earlier however without the tall blade, it's just not a Shaman.

I'm very curious to see how Spyderco will achieve a tall blade, without a choil, and with a compression lock.
