I figured its about time for me to give away some loot again. This giveaway will be open to all of North & South America WS&S'ers, not just Canada like my last contest (i had shipping restrictions on the last giveaway, due to the flammable contents - (firekit) ).

THE PRIZE!

Up for grabs is a VERY stout walking stick/staff, made from a dowel of western red oak. 1.25" thick, by about 4' long. Handmade by ME, during many nights of Warthog Ale :D (i get inspired and artistic, what can i say? ). Hand filed barbwire pattern curling up the stick, on the upper portion of the staff, with the file grooves being burnt black by a camp fire heated red hot rattail file. On the lower portion of the stick is flame burnished "raccoon rings" and a larger burn ring. I wet sanded the stick after burnishing, using Tung Oil and 3M 200 grit wet/dry paper and the black from the burn wood to dye the wood grain. The Stick is sanded smooth and is currently soaking in Danish Tung Oil/Turpentine/Linseed Oil, and will be soaking for the next month. I still need to burn/smooth out the lanyard hole, add a paracord lanyard and whistle (all my sticks have an small flat whistle on the lanyard) and add a tip (pics soon)

- closeup of your camp/hiking stove cooking dinner in the woods

- a tarp set up or bushcraft shelter or trappers cabin in the woods

This was from a trip not too long ago, down by the river I call it. :D

Holy giveaways, Batman! 'Tis the season, as they say.

Bushman5, this sounds like an awesome contest. This one warrants a new picture, which gives me an excuse to make the time for a nice wilderness hike with my dog and knife. Hope you like snowy settings!

I look forward to the contest pics, and to some pics of the prize (the description alone is tantalizing).

All the best,

- Mike

PS excellent choice of brew.

Wow - Great opportunity! Thanks.

I don't have any pictures laying around that meet these requirements! I like it. It's going to force me out and about this weekend with the camera.

Crap, I don't have any pictures that meet the requirements!

I know I have a troll doll somewhere though...

What a cool prize, a nice walking stick is something I have always hung my nose over but never quite been able to justify the store prices !
I have had to really go back through my pics for one to meet your criteria but here ya go and thanks for the chance !!!!

This was taken not too long after we arrived in Canada and is at a lake called Thetis. When I first posted this pic one of the other forum members ( think it might be Riley ) said it looked like was about to dismember Maisy !!!!

Holly crap! My uncle has one of those things! He used to have it hanging from the rear view mirror in his car but ended up ripping the hanging ring. Now it sits in a piece of styrofoam in one of his closets at home... and the damn thing is eathing through the styrofoam! (been there for a while you know...) No kidding! It is pretty messy and legs and arms are stappled together (they came off somehow).

I never saw another before and neither did I know it was that old. I will try to get a picture of that evil thing.
