Want to buy first busse

I'm really excited for it. I think I will be extremely happy with the 1311. Thanks for all the help

You have a universe of information to absorb. You may want to begin with the Busse Bad Mojo site for most of the once available models, photos, etc. And...Live On This Sub-Forum! Good Luck. We were all new once...;-)

If you want a super beast of a knife, just wait a month or so and I am certian a Busse Battle Saw will hit the exchange. The one I ordered will be my primary large chopper, replacing my ScrapYard 1111.

Mid Size the Team Gemini LB is a beast of a chopper at just shy of 8".

The Rucki is decent but not a good chopper at all, my Bro-n-law has one and it is not a wood chopper. Would be great for CQC.

Also the Ratmandu is a sweet knife for the money and size, or smaller yet a Rodent Solution is a great EDC.

When searching for a sheath I go AzWelke or BuyBrown for kydex both have many models in stock,
for leather Patriot Leather is the only one I have used and Skyler makes superb sheaths.

Best of luck and welcome to the madness.

Congrats:thumbup:
1311 is a great blade and you'll find (as a full disclosure warning) will be your start in a insatiable hunger for more :D

What a way to buy your first Busse kin. Congrats BennettS. Class act Cobalt. What a great bunch of guys on this forum.

+1

I've only been lurking here for a few weeks, but have already seen a ton of good will and fair dealing around here.

Here's another 1311 pic for ya Bennett, from the 9+ chopper thread :D

(Other knife is a Basic 8 LE)

No doubt that the resiprene handle is one of the most comfortable handles ever made.

Someone is selling a 1311 in the knife exchange for $250. Does anyone know anything about this knife? Is this a good deal?

Nice score. Very good price with a sheath and shipping.

1311 makes for a great chopper and wood splitter, and the variant ain't bad either.

Now, for your NEXT knife ... we got the big chopper covered ... but it's a little big for camp chores. What other tasks did you have in mind, and we can point you in the right direction.

I'll wait til I get this one in hand first...;)
I started out looking for a bk9 or esee junglas or Ontario sp51... and I'm ending up with a busse sykco 1311... I think I'll wait a bit. Unless another knife catches my eye like the sp45

I found the resiprene handles to be a bit to small. That is why i got rid of my basic 10. If they would thicken them up it would be better. Kinda think they are made for smaller hands. I still want a basic 8 tho. Sorry to get off trck here. Good luck with the new blade

Absolutely agree. I used those for an extended period for the first time yesterday and really appreciate the lack of a beating my hands took.

Res C on the 1111 makes chopping an 8" log seem like cutting a twig. Absolutely no shock is transferred to the hand.

I have very large hands and the Res C was designed to basically fit any hand, because it feels spongy-great knife you will love

Busse are beautiful knives. Their warranty is second to none, main reason i love them beside design and edge retention is Infi is the lightest but yet strongest steel imo

After looking around more, the insatiable hunger for blades has hit me... And I haven't even gotten my 1311 yet! I'm thinking that I will need a 711 or 511 to go with the 1311... How much would that run me?

For some reason, I feel like my wishlist of kabars Ontario's and condors will soon be replaced by busse, swamprat, and scrapyard

We have all been there! Two years ago, I didn't know a Busse from a bus. Now I have around 40. Good luck, friend...;-)

Lol, you got the bug for sure. Happens to all of us. It is a sickness. At my Peak, I had well over 150 Busses, most of them over 7" blade length. And I know there are some with way more than that, some stinky fellow.

I doubt I'd have enough money to buy 3 busse knives, let alone 5. 150 blades to me is crazy. Hate to be in that room during a tornado. I am thinking that I will need a smaller work blade to go with such a large chopping/batoning blade. How's the 511? I like the look of it better than the 711. If I had the money, I'd say screw it, and get the whole lot of them. Thanks for introducing me to busse. I especially can't wait till Thursday, when my 1311 arrives
