Wanted: A TRUE cutlery supersteel

Metallurgists actually looked at uranium additions to high speed steels in the early 20th century. Perhaps related to the interest in it by scientists at that time. Obviously it didn't become common.
Yeah the heavy metals were like the .com of the era. Let's put some in everything!
 
I hate to confess this, but lately I've been leaning towards simple, easy-to-sharpen steels like 12C27 (Manly Wasp) and (GASP!:p) humble, under-rated 420HC, as in my Copper & Clad Buck 212. Our favorite kitchen knives these days are Spyderco's with MBS-26 steel. All take a razor edge with just a few whisks on the DMTs.
 
Unfortunately the supply has dried up. Earth Core was recently bought out by a new upstart tech company, Sky Net. They're using all this material for some type of advanced robotics program.

There might still be a deposit in Mt. Fitz Roy
