over 2 weeks ago, this person offered to buy my Folts persian which I had for sale. She said she sent the money via mail, 4 days later, she claimed it returned to her for some reason. Asking again for my address in case that was what was wrong, she claimed she sent it out again. After more than 5 days, it STILL had not come. At which point I emailed her again, asking if she sent it. She said she had, and that if in 1 day's time it did not arrive she'd express mail another one. Guess what? Nothing came since, and repeated attempts at e-mail contact have failed to get a response. Thankfully I did not send the knife simultaneously inititally, sticking to the buyer sends first rule.
I have no idea why this person seems to be lying. The chances of a letter (in the same state!) getting lost TWICE is slim at best. Maybe she was hoping I'd send the knife simultaneously, I dunno, can't say for sure. At any rate I'm sick of being f*cked around with. As I don't know her forum name, or even if she has one, here is her name and address so as to warn others in any future transactions:

I could be wrong,but when I read the address you wrote it sounded familiar.After doing a search,I found some people had some bad experience with an aka-(docbart)This person has a Victoria,Texas listed as his/her location.Is it possible this person may be the individual that you had the problem with?Whoever wrote up docbart in the G,B,Ugly section my recognize this persons mailing address you listed.Chow,RS
 
I recently made a deal with her without any problems. I traded my halo 3 for a Crawford folder about a week and a half ago. The deal went smoothly.
The address looks familiar, I'm not sure about the "Lot 23."
I don't see how it could be a bad deal if you didn't lose any money or a knife. When was the last day you had contact with her? Maybe see just backed out of the deal without notifying you.
She said she doesn't post on the forum, she just lurks.

backed out of the deal without telling me? Even if that were so, I don't see how that is a good thing? She claims she sent the money twice already, I don't fathom why someone who'd want to back out of a deal would claim that. It's all very bizarre and very frustrating, well, just letting you guys know! take your own risks

ok, I just read all the excrement on docbart, evidently he/she is still lurking here. As for the guy a few posts up YOU ARE LUCKY that you didn't get screwed. I am also lucky that I stuck to the internet's unspoken rule when it comes to buying/selling BUYER SENDS FIRST. Glad I didn't change that rule even though most people here on BF.com are trustworthy enough.

as for you forumites, I read all of Tashimigirl's threads about docbart, looks like she never posted a "real" name or address, well now you got it gentlemen, I got no qualms about posting that, it's public knowledge anyway. By the way, he/she is still using the email address

it has occured to me that he/she may not actually be "Cyndie Thomas", but that Cyndie Thomas could be this person's secretary or something. Well at least you got a name to connect docbart to now. I'm surprised no one took REAL measures and alerted the Post Office about the mail fraud, I'd have thrown the book at the jerk.

Go to www.555-1212.com and do a Reverse Lookup using that address. It reveals a completely different name than the ones provided in this thread. There is also a phone number listed for this person...

I just wanted to reply to the Post Office part of the thread..... In the last 9 months I have lost 8 Money Orders and a knife in the mail. Each time it cost me $10 to do the trace on the Money Order then I had to re-purchase and re-send. EVERY deal eventually went through and there was never any motivation on my part to screw anyone. Please note that even though this much time has elapsed there has been no trace of the Money Orders or the blade I lost as I requested that each person please email me if the Money Order 'eventually' got there so I did not inadvertantly assign blame to the Post Office in their supposed 'Innocence'. Evidently my Money Orders and my blade are floating around in 'Postal Space' somewhere still un-cashed and never returning or reaching their destination!!?? Long story short, NOTHING would surprise me at this point regarding the mailing of any object including mail not getting where it is supposed to in the same state. I completely understand this thread and the dealings with the person in question and can only be thankful that I have had no part in it. I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth.

Jadis- Publishing a person`s phone number in a public forum like this is really taking the low road. Are you sure that "lot" 23 is the same as "apt" 23? Is it possible you just put up someone`s phone number who has nothing to do with this at all...?????

The address is all correct for Cyndie Thomas. I don't know if it an apartment complex or what, because it doesn't really matter.
Have you called Mr or Ms Curry? It could just be an old tenant list.

To: Not my name (backwards)--If I had lost that many money orders in as many months, I think I would make a contact to the Postal Inspectors as it would appear to me that somebody within the post office seems to recognize you when you show up on the postal counter.

I just wanted to say that my address has A "lot #" It is A mobile home park and not an apartment. I don't know if this makes any difference or not? Thought I would let you all know.
