WARNING - GRAHPIC IMAGES OF SLAUGHTERING

Post pic's of using your blades!

A boar my brother shot last year, I used my new 375 (at the time), and it skinned like butter! - The only drawback to that knife, and yes I know - wasn't really meant for hunting.. Was the para/handle wrap.. Tough to get the blood out.. But great knife! I love the serration style on the spine, helped splitting bone.

Apologies for shot quality, my bro was using my iPhone, tough to find good shots without me being in the way ;)

That's a nice hog! I would put a warning for gore in the title, some peolpe don't have the stomach for seeing animals skinned.

Can't edit the title, but this should be ok, I'm sure there are some fellow hunters amongst us ;)

If not, people can see where meat comes from!

You just have to go into "advanced" when you edit and you can change the title:)

LOL.. By the rate of all the streaming comments, one could reasonably assume that people haven’t seen this before. I’ll post some less grotesque fishing trip pics this weekend! ;)

Love this thread idea! What's with all of the sissy's saying we need a warning? Do you eat meat? Guess what, this is how it happens.

Do I eat meat? That's like asking me if I have a knife on me lol...I was just saying som folks ar sensitive *shrug* and I don't have a problem with the pics;)

I could see why you might need to add a warning if you had video of cutting it's heart out and taken a big bite while it was still beating. I would think it was cool, but others might not.

Anyway, nice post and pics in my opinion. :)

Dude, we werent saying it was bad, just that some people might be grossed out, no need to call us or them sissies...

Cool pics! Thanks for posting. Is that guy in the background wearing Optifade camo? It looks pretty cool.
You might want to look into sealing up that paracord handle if you use the Adamas for stuff like this with any frequency. It'll make cleaning a helluva lot easier. Here's a thread on the topic, (one of many.)

You know your camo

It's Sitka's Optifade pattern. Sitka's new line is great (a little expensive, but great).

BTW, thanks for that tip! I've never heard of doing something like that until now, if it works for other materials (similar process like micarta), then why not ;) The only part of using that knife for hunting was getting the para crazy dirty, and having to deal with it afterwards.. I'll try this alternative and report back when need be! Thanks

- I usually use these two from the BM line-up for fishing/hunting, and have a folder in the pocket. They are very easy to sharpen/clean!

Optifade's pretty cool stuff. It was developed by Gore, (I'm not sure if you knew that?) and I think Sitka holds the exclusive license. Gore made a series of videos about the camo that're pretty fun to watch.
I'm glad I could help you out with the info on epoxy sealing. If you end up doing it to your Adamas, you've gotta post pics :). Here's a video showing off an epoxy sealed knife. (It's actually where I first learned the process even existed.) The interesting part starts at the 40 second mark.

Snody does something similar to the above with all of his paracord wraps, and he's got a subforum here, so there's another source of information if you need it.

By the way, you're not the only one who learned something new today; this' the first I've ever heard of a McHenry & Williams fixed blade. It's a good looking knife!

Thanks for all the information! Just have to decide which color of paracord & wrap style I’ll use. I’ll post pics ;) I also didn’t know that Gore first developed Optifade.. I guess Sitka holds license now lol which helps their new line.

The 180 Outbounder is a cool knife! It’s on the smaller fixed side, but get’s the job done - I have the original 440C version, which is super easy to sharpen after use. I just searched this model, and I wasn’t even aware that BM upgraded to D2..
