This is a product Warning.
Company - Survival Sheath Systems
Owner - Robert Humelbaugh
This is another negative review of the company Survival Sheath Systems. I ordered a sheath from them in January and right after he took my money, I have not heard from him. After some deeper checking (that I should have done before I ordered) this appears to be a pattern of behavior from Robert. He takes people's money and then goes AWOL, not answering phones, the answering machine's mail box is full so you cannot leave a message and he does not return emails. If you search Blade Forums you will see that he does the exact same thing to others regularly.
Initially I read about his company on a post on Blade Forums so I want to be sure that yet again, his company has been called out for poor business practices here.
This morning, as I promised in my last email to Robert, I contacted my credit card company and filed a claim against him.
Also as promised I filed a complaint against Survival Sheath Systems and its owner, with his Better Business Bureau.
I also explained in my email that I would post my experience with his company on the forum that I heard about him, and here it is.
Today I will also contact all the business that he lists on his links page and post this Warning on every related forum I can find.
If you have also been taken by Survival Sheath Systems, here is a link to his area BBB http://alaskaoregonwesternwashington.bbb.org/ Contacting his BBB is not out of spite, it is to protect and warn future buyers so they don't have to go through the same experience as many of us have.
It is a shame to have to do things like this but some people make it necessary. On his website he states; "Survival is an instinct. Preparedness is a lifestyle. These sheath systems and equipment will make that eventual meeting with Mr. Murphy easier to navigate. At Survival Sheath Systems, your survival is my business."
This sounds like something an "operator" would say, with one huge exception. Real operators always put one thing above all else, they accomplish the mission! This seems to be an "issue" with Survival Sheath Systems. I hope to God that no ones survival depends on this guy!
Thanks,
Bill
