Was at dairy queen and...

My Uncle carries a Strider SNG i always thought it look high quality and expensive. But never knew what it was until i joined the forums.

My friends BA girlfriend carries a ZT 0300 that she got from her father. She doesn't know too much about knives but she can shapen quite good.

Around Ontario I typically see people carry Bucks, Kershaws, and the odd Spyderco. When I go a little more north to visit my parents in Cookstown, then I see a little bit more quality knives including some custon fixed blades, some CRK's, a RAT 6, and a few Benchmades.

The only people I see carry quality knives are friends of mine, mostly the knives have been provided by me. Still, it's quite satisfying seeing them after a little while and how they realize that having a knife is actually quite convenient for a variety of reasons. Never giving away an expensive one again though. Lesson learned.

It's weird....I know quite a few who have nice collections. One is a vendor(and has become a friend) of mine who, as it turns out, is a BF member.

Some older friends of mine, though, have EXTENSIVE collections. Of course, one has Pat Crawford show up to his birthday parties, so it would be expected there LOL.

(heh, BTW, they LOVE the SRM 710s. One stated that he was going to buy a dozen of them just to have decent knives at hand when turning someone on to something better than flea market junk.)

I laugh when I see people at flea markets crowded around tables covered in made in China knives. They don't know that anything and everything they buy there will break if put under minor stress.

I rarely, if ever see someone carrying a pocket knife with them. Doesn't stop me from looking for them, though. :)
but they sell. when I was selling at the market I had 3 glass cases of them.

Me and one of my customers always talk blades and his GF got him a Benchmade 710,and a CS Ti-lite. blew me away, as I've always wanted to see the 710 up close, blade is wicked, wish it was something other than D2 =/ maybe something like 154cm, anyhoo, then I wipped out my CS Rajah 2, his eyes opened up, haha.

I was at a biker swap meet, I checked out the selection of balisongs at s knife booth, all CCC. The younger of the 2 vendors noticed my lack of interest and reached for the piece in his pocket. Before he cleared denim I was already asking "32 or 51?" He said 32 as he hand it to me. The older vendor says "I don't know what you just said to him, but he has never let anyone including me touch that knife" :-D

Yea, its nice to find anutha brutha mixed into the heard.

I was waiting to get pizza's a few days ago and someone walked in behind me with a Kershaw Needs Work. I attempted to make conversation with him but the deuce blew me off.:grumpy:

That doesn't suprise me one bit, most people walk around with their heads up their..... around here in NC...

My wife and I were in Angelo's Steakhouse in Panama City Beach, Fl this summer. We drew a few stares as I used my Boker Action 2 and she used her Boker Cruel Girl to cut our stakes, lol

I noticed one of the police officers at my school was carrying a Spyderco... Yup the Police model. I got him in a good conversation with it, he had just gotten it and was showing it off to me. It was neat to see another personality from a generally stone cold person.

I see it all the time. Strider benchmade microtech. But i see mostly kershaw around here. There has been an explosion of people carrying around here lately. If I saw ten a day it wouldn't be uncommon not even looking.

Where I live a lot of guys carry. I just saw a kid walking through the gas station/convenience store with a USMC Ka-Bar in open carry. It looked kind of dumb. Folders - Buck & Buck clones in the leather or web belt sheath is the norm.

I was on vacation in Atlanta last month and amazingly just about everyone I saw was carrying everything from BM's, Kershaws, Spyderco's, to full blown customs!

I live north of Atlanta and I've yet to see ANY clips I recognized. Not a damn one!

I was hiking with my fiancee last week and saw a guy with an izula patch on his bag and said something to him. My girl wasnt impressed but the guy seemed happy i noticed.

I know this is an old thread, hope it's not bad etiquette to post.. I live Palo Alto, CA and despite the fact that most people drive cars worth more than 80 grand, so many people seem to carry Smith and Wesson's. Maybe because that is mostly what they have at the closest Big 5. They should check out the local knife shop for a Spydie or BM at least! Working at a cigar shop for over two years in downtown Palo Alto, I used my BM 741 to move the cotton on a zippo to fill it for a customer (yeah, it's a user, or abuse victim). He was an Australian guy who was SO excited and he pulled out his gold class benchmade 740. Damascus and Carbon Fiber, right when I was really getting into knives... Cool dude, and I saw that excitement for blades in his eyes. Another regular saw me using my knives (he was in the store every day) and he mentioned he had a gold class infidel, but never carried it. That makes sense, as it would not be legal here. But he didn't EDC anything. why buy a 400 OTF knife and not carry anything? but spend hundreds of dollars on cigars... at least the cigars were good Padrons and Davidoff 2000's I recall. End of rant, sorry, I am always looking for clip and sheaths, but all I see are S & W's, CRKT's and some kershaws... and when asked two friends revealed that they own "some benchmade butterfly knife" with milled handles, 4.2 inch weehawk blades, and spring latches. Both gifts handed down from siblings... and they don't even know.... Really, end of rant... sorry

I wait tables, I saw this two top (lingo) of guys come in. Noticed one of them had a BM auto and I went over to bother them. Turned out the other one also had a BM Rukus. First time I've seen some legit knives other than my own.

I always see people with good knives in McDonalds. I've seen a Spyderco Police, Benchmade Griptilian, and a SOG Flash. A lot of the time when I see a clip it's a Chinese junk folder or box cutter.

I've seen a couple spydercos and kershaws, but as I was sitting gere reading this thread at a hotel in Grand Teton National Park, I saw a man getting coffee with a Benchmade 940 strapped to his jeans. Didn't have time to stop him, bummer...

A guy I work with has a molded clip Delica CE. Our IT guy carries a SS Delica. Another co-worker carries two different Leatherman multi-tools. My brother-in-law now carries a Persistance (thanks to me helping his girlfriend), my brother now carries a Kershaw Blackout (a gift from me), and another guy at work is going to get a Tenacious (he liked mine). I have a friend that carries a Leek. Nothing crazy high end, and none of them have more than one to my knowledge, but all nice working knives, and my brother has talked about getting something a little more high-end, he appreciates my knives for sure. Another guy at work says he is going to give me around $50, and let me pick out whatever for him. He really liked my R.A.M. I got from Kershawguy, but has not given me the money yet. I took a $2 POS China knife that he tried to sharpen on a rock home to sharpen for him and ended up throwing it away. I told him I could not get a decent edge back and it was dangerous as it's liner lock was a joke.
