Didn't see them on the exhibitor list. Last year Jared did a side couch interview so he wouldnt have to buy a table. His interviews always make me laugh. I think hes a conman but i also kinda miss watching the schmuck run his mouth.

So what does the absence of qtrmstr at blade show mean? Is the company closing??? Hopefully. Will this mean Jared now glorifies himself with the Mad Blacksmith ( can't believe he's calling himself this)? For such a large "American" base of manufacturing its a bit funny to me they were a no show.

What does the absence of no one on bladeforums caring enough about QTRMSTR to reply mean? ;)
My vote is they went into business making knock off transformer toys. No real idea, the only time they cross my mind is...never.
Take care.

They might have been in the lobby, brown bagging. Since most of what that guy says is ground in lies, how would be even begin to explain and prove his claims? He wouldn't corner himself that way.

'Cause his lips are moving"
"A close partnership with a leading USA steel manufacturer allows QTRM5TR access to the newest in powder metallurgy technology.
Our first models are offered in CPM 154; a tried and tested premium U.S. made steel. "

Idk but

Why even ask... What is the fascination? Stir the hornets nest of bladeforums again?

If you really wanted to know if they were out of business - just go check out their instagram.

Likely they were there in an unofficial capacity at least, as their newest knife was announced as a BladeHQ exclusive right after the show ended.

From BladeHQ:

QTRMSTR was founded in 2012. The principals in the business have a combined 25 years of experience in aerospace and industrial design. At its inception, the goal of the QTRMSTR Knife Company is to design and develop a line of rugged, hand-crafted, American made knives in limited quantity but of ultimate quality.

Quartermaster is dedicated producing unique, domestically made items for real users and this will continue to set them apart from the competition for years to come. Their no-nonsense approach extends from their designs, well past their assembly processes and into their marketing practices. They don’t let anything sub-standard out of their doors, EVER and they won’t mince words about which customers they'd like to have: They're QTRMSTR and they're a knife built for a new generation of American Soldier.

Good. Another source of high-speed, low-drag knives for operators.

What's you're problem, don't like the post move on. Qtrmstr blocks everyone on IG so you go look yourself.

No they were not at Blade Show just like last year, because they know everyone in attendance for the most part knows about them being a bunch of pieces of shit basically.

I don't get everyones hatred for the qtrmstr. I've read their earlier designs weren't all that good and were made overseas but apparently they're all made in the USA now. I just received the mr roper eviction today (the last update of it) and it's a very nice knife. I guess there is some drama that I don't know/care about in the past but to each their own I suppose. I'm quite impressed/happy with the one that came today though.

Riiiiight.

lol, yah i don't know - I was just reading through some instagram comments and someone from quartermaster acknowledged that NOW they are fully made in america. Not that should really matter when lots of our other favorite manufacturers produce knives out of country. I have to say though, this new mr roper with the ball bearings and stuff - a beauty. I'm sure there is lots of politics that were before my time that I don't know about (i've heard bits here and there).

I know it isn a Qrtrmster but my Mantis Pit Boss now 5 years old has been an amazing work knife. Can't help but to keep it in the company of my Benchmade and Busse knives that I will never part with.

I was going to say that QTRMSTR doesn't need to go to BLADE when they have a huge social media presence, but they appear to have deleted both their Facebook and IG profiles (the latter of which had over 150,000 followers). I was previously banned from following them on IG but now it seems the page doesn't exist at all.

You mean the machine shop that they tried to pass off as their own and they forgot to scrub the geo-tag off the picture?

Are you also forgetting the invoice for completed knives from China?

Or the fact that no one has ever been to their factory before?

Or that you can purchase 150k followers on social media for a few hundred bucks?

Or that fact that they still steal designs?

If it sounded like I was defending QTRMSTR, then that was unintentional. I have been against QTRMSTR from the beginning, in the oldest thread here about the company I posted the bill of lading. I pointed out that they copied the GTC Airborne (Skelton later reposted my picture on IG, and eventually they credited Gus) and have seen the John Gray ripoff's they pulled as well. I have no love for QTRMSTR. I'm just willing to consider all of the evidence, and the video they released appears to show some American employees doing something with CNC machines. What that actually means is probably nothing. Like I've said, they've done enough reprehensible things that their country of origin is just a drop in the well.

Upon a closer look, this "Lee Price" character that is apparently their "team leader" has the same address listed as the one QTRMSTR formerly used: an expensive residential home, also the same one Jared West is listed as living at. So clearly there's more deception at hand. I'm just saying it's possible they do something with their knives in Texas. I also couldn't find anything about "Jace Palmer", who was listed as their shop foreman. The fact that the "employees" are appearing to conceal their identity is highly suspicious.

I wasn't aware the WE Knives picture had a location in the exif data when I made my last post. My apologies.

edit: If anyone else wants to try their hand at some amateur sleuthing, here's the video in question
