Was qtrmstr at Blade Show 2016?

I've noticed as of late a few IG companies (legit gun companies) come out with "limited edition","special runs" of the Mr Roper. Typically selling for around 200. I wondered if they know who they know who there doing business with. They always stress 100% American made.

If anyone lives in Texas near their place of business they can rummage around in their dumpster and see if theres a lot of boxes that came from china .......

There's a weird sort of implication here that because they have an unscrupulous reputation that they are either more obligated to represent themselves at the shows and/or are liable to more scrutiny for not doing so.

If they had been there, what difference would it have actually made? By not being there, we have people implying that they were ashamed to show their face, hiding, etc - if they had been there, they would be seen as tasteless salesmen brazenly showing up where they aren't welcome. The alternate-universe version of this thread would instead just be about them peddling their wares of dubious origins. Damned if they do, damned if they don't - attendance to the show is irrelevant to their perception on these boards and in general. It is, in fact, because of their image here and elsewhere that we color every action or inaction we see from them with a shade of shady.
The Blade Show, who attended, who didn't attend , is irreverent to the fact that there is no, was no, has never been Quartermaster aka QTRMSTR knives being made in a Shop that doesn't exist verified by Texas State records.

I did a google search; quartermaster knife controversy; theres a thread on the sigforums about this, and on page 2 theres a picture from Instagram of mr roper scales on a cnc machine, under it the same machine with a picture of a we knife. That company does make incredible knives, so if they are making the ropers, the quality should be amazing, but it also shows its made in China not here.I like that latest flipper version of the roper knife, just need to decide if I want to support that company or not. I just don't agree with them if they say they are U.S. made, and they aren't.One thing is for sure imo; the names of their knives are downright stupid and childish, almost comical!

It's all about perception. I see some really goofy stuff coming out of highly regarded manufacturers. But the fan boys ignore these oddities and attack other companies. QM hasn't done anything but damage to their own image.

I had the chance to sit down with Jared West the crazy genius behind Mantis knives and now the lead designer for QTRM5TR Knives! There has been a great deal of controversy behind the designs of Mantis and issues with keyboard commandos talking trash, and for the first time Jared West responds to these questions and some other off the wall questions in the half hour interview.

Perhaps made most notable by "Q Branch", the fictional research and development division of the British Secret Service in famed writer Ian Flemings' series of spy novels; QUARTERMASTER or "Q" is a military officer who's particular responsibilities are providing (among other things) equipment, often very specialized equipment to troops and specially trained operators.

Another name couldn't be more fitting for our organization given our collective goal and our chosen customer base. These knives are indeed some of the best examples of hand-made, hand tools in existence today. The retailers who've been chosen to re-sell this brand are only the finest in the USA cutlery industry, the most reputable individuals and organizations around. Bar None.

During the second weekend in June, 2012 while knife enthusiasts from around the world hustled and traded at hundreds of tables in the Cobb Galleria, of Atlanta Georgia, the industry's best retailers were invited to a reception in a suite high above. These select few individuals weren't told much... only that they would be viewing a range of products that would likely change the way their top shelves looked in the coming months. Once they were greeted and seated in our viewing room, these knife purveyors were shown a thoughtful product line that is somehow tastefully elegant and rugged at the same time. Knives that are designed and hand-built by skilled technicians right here in the United States.

Limited production pieces that are each individually serialized and hand-fit to exacting tolerances. During the second half of 2012, the public will begin to see what you're about to. QTRM5TR is not interested in selling large quantities of knives. QTRM5TR is only interested in ultra-premium quality knives. Utilizing both CPM154 steel that is hardened to 59-60 Rc and our proprietary ORB® pivot system QTRM5TR is confident that we'll change the look of your collection as well.

Notice how the supposed third-party interviewer shifts from "I" to "our" and "we'll." Scammer to the end.

And talk about "keyboard commandos." He's "Q" from the James Bond stories. WOW!

I still wish the Mantis Laser Guided Wikas Knife video was available; it was a top secret blade show hotel room interview with JROD himself all decked out in eyeliner...SMDH.
