Was your first a crkt, and do you still have/use it?

My first CRKT was a Crawford/Kasper large. I liked it. It was a nice deign. It was cheap and easy to sharpen. No I don't still have it. I do still have an M18 with blue inserts. $10 at a gun show! CRKT makes good knives for good prices.

So this is my first thread and instead of the usual "help me find a knife" thread, i thought i'd try to start a thread that might be interesting. I like crkt, have 19 knives or tools, and appreciate them for what they are. Like many of you, a crkt was my first "real" knife and what brought me to knife collecting and the forums. So the questions i pose to the community...What was your first crkt knife? Do you still have it or use it? What was your impression of them then verus now? And do you still consider crkt products for purchase?

As i read back over this i realize it sounds like i'm a crkt shill. I'm not, i just don't understand some of the hate directed to crkt. I now collect kershaw/zero tolerance, and i don't try to compare the two brands, except maybe the lower or mid level kershaw offerings. CRKT isn't Zero Tolerance, CRK, Hinderer, or even Spyderco, but without the lower end knife companies to introduce people to knife collecting, then how would this disease spread? :D And it seems like quite a few custom knifemakers have worked with crkt, and i know that as soon as i can afford it i plan on ordering a "real" polkowski/kasper companion to go with crkt version i have, and isnt that a good thing to?

Thanks for taking the time to read my rambling, and i look forward to your responses!

I bought a used Zaan which I like for edc because of the blade shape and weight. It is very smooth and solid.

Umm Columbia River, not Chris Reeve... geez.

Getting back ON TOPIC my first CRKT was a Lake 111. Still carry it pretty regularly. I like the blade and handle shape.

I still have a M16-13Z, which is a fantastic knife to me (other than the crappy AUS4 steel).
Manual LAWKS, good handle ergos, nice flipping action and a slim profile -if only it had better steel.
But the M16s with better steel are too expensive for what they are, so I won't buy one

A K.I.S.S. was my first. Bought it on a trip in Alaska. Airport attendants made me throw it away as I had already checked my bags and couldn't store it on my person obviously. Not very expensive, more of a cheap souvenir. Happened about a year after 9/11. Guess I should have known I was a threat to national security.
