Darn, too slow. Never even got to see them! Anybody know how many of each were being made?

I was told by the person I deal with that each dealer was getting 6 knives of each handle material. If the distribution is like the TC Barlows, then 6 x 5 handles = 30 knives each dealer x 5 dealers = 150 knives total.
But, there is a lot of assumptions there. I could be totally wrong.

KSF posted 7 Ebony, 7 Smooth Polished Stag, and 7 Autumn Gold Bone, so... I think the facts might still be up in the air.

Each of 6 dealers will get 7 of each variant; plus waynorth will have some himself. All stag, autumn, and gabon were shipped from the factory on Friday; along with probably about half of the red bone.

KSF had four of the blood red originally posted. All the variants went quickly, but the red were gone almost instantly!

I'd say Charlie hit (yet another) homerun with these!

Any word on what the pull rating will be like on these knives? I prefer the #15 type pull which is perfect in my book, but a little less would be ok also.

People must sit in front of the computer and just refresh their screen every 30 seconds or something.... those ones at KSF were gone in less than 10 minutes yesterday! Really glad I was able to make a reservation. Mine aren't coming until later this week though.... I think GEC is sending out the rest of the Blood Red Bone and the Cocobolo on Wednesday, so there will probably be another feeding frenzy on Friday!

It's frustrating sometimes to be sure. Refresh every 30 seconds? may be 10 seconds? :-) From some further posts it seems like there was at least 40 of each handle material - about 200 knives produced. They will show up on the exchange, just as the Forum knives have. Some people will just not bond with what they receive. But the Exchange is a challenge as well. Those with the fastest internet connection, fastest automatic notification software, and have access to the forum all the time for whatever reason, can & do get the majority of hard to get offers if they so choose. That's life. But if you are determined & patient & really want one - you will find it. :-)

Whenever a new model is first introduced/seen on the GEC website or here in a thread/post, the first thing I do is go to CK and see if its up on Mikes early reserve page.

I agree with Sherman01. I just last week bought a 2012 released #68 White Owl; they only made 28 of them. I missed them back when they were released, but I kept my nose to the wind and finally found one in great condition. It took two years, but patience paid off.

There were at least two GEC Distributors that were taking Pre-Release Reservations on these weeks at least two weeks before release. Everybody had an equal chance at those I think.

Also, some of the reserved knives are not claimed for whatever reason. I have bought some TC's at CK when they were released after the reservers backed out. This can be true for the other dealers as well. But if you see one don't hesitate, you might be in a typing race. Being familiar with & making regular visits to the GEC dealer's websites can pay off! Hey, can I get a discount for that plug? :-)

Maybe so.......but I don't think everyone was aware of it, and that is where the frustration is coming from.

Everyone was aware they were being made. The first post in this thread was dated 9/24, almost a month ago. Sometimes, if the interest is there, it pays to do the homework. The information was easily accessible.
