Only some dealers will be getting them and they've been taking reservations. Best way to find all of them is to go to GEC's website and contact the dealers on their list. It's possible not all have been claimed yet.

Looks like it's going to be a tough find with these standby lists. I'm not sweating it and my wallet is in no hurry but if the right one becomes available I'll buy it, otherwise just sit back and enjoy the show. :p

Man, that stag looks great. I can't wait to get one in my hands. I'm leaving for vacation on Friday, so I'm probably going to have to wait until I get home to play with it. :grumpy:

Oh well, it'll make coming back a little easier.

Hang on Kids, Here we go!

Looks amazing!! That Polished Stag suits the knife I'd say!!
I suspect we will see a lot of variation in it . . . . . .

It makes an interesting substitute for Ivory, the trading of which is, of course, in the painful process of criminalization - sheesh!!

Surprised nobody else has posted up this picture of the smooth blood red bone yet. So glad I preordered one with this bone!

Nevermind. It seems that I missed out on a lot. Wasn't aware that dealers were accepting stand-by lists.

That polished stag just pops....outstanding choice.

That's a very, very classy-looking knife Charlie. Another legend in the making by the look of it. Well done. Hey, you even got buttons! :)

Pretty fancy looking knife and a nice one at that. Would this be a heavy user, like more than cutting fruit, or kind of a special occasion type of knife?

It's really up to the individual owner. If Charlie and GEC are behind it, though, it'll be up to any (reasonable) task you throw at it, rest assured.

Dan is right, this is a sturdy Jackknife! As good as anything GEC makes!

Just so you folks don't get the impression all the Stags are "white", here are some pictures of the variations they can have. Most will be lighter, but not all.

Charlie,

Attached are a couple of photos showing you that some of the

smooth stag will have a third cut appearance.

This was unavoidable.

Also we paired these up as we typically do per color and character but

when they go through the cleaning vat some handles change appearance

and thus do not match the other side as would be expected.

I like them equally, and am glad Bill clarified this for me. Hope you do too, folks!

Wow that's gorgeous! Too bad I didn't figure out the preorder thing in time to get in line for the polished stag. I think I might prefer it to first cut stag.

That's what I envisioned when you first mentioned polished stag. I like it a lot. Both the solid white and colored versions appeal to me quite a bit.

cards, the way GEC's pricing is set up, the price of a knife isn't set until production has been completely finished. They look at total production cost per knife + a small profit margin, and they wait until they know what it actually cost them to produce the knives to maintain the most accurate pricing. Any savings in production costs are passed on to the consumer.
