Washingtonians?

For those of you in WA, did any of you ever know a hobbyist maker with the last name of Brown? I didn't know him personally, but he recently passed on and his son is trying to sell off most of his shop. I know he has an Enco mill (I'd buy it if I weren't in TX) and an old Bader B2, as well as a lot of blade steel (some unlabelled, unfortunately) and enough handle material to last decades. The son seems to be a great guy from the conversations we've had, and I'd love to help him out if possible. If anyone is interested, shoot me an email. Next time I'm on the phone I'll ask if I can give out his contact info to those who ask. He's about 40 mi outside Seattle in Gig Harbor.

Travis, I'm interested and am not far from Gig Harbor but can't find a PM or email option for you. Please email or PM me. Thanks.

Sequim is on the northern Olympic Peninsula; roughly across the Strait form Victoria, BC.

SW Washington here.
Not a knife maker, but am a user; so hope its ok to post this here...

We have an annual knife-centric weekend camp/retreat/confab/party/outing-sort-of-thing, usually the 3rd weekend of August.

This will be our 8th Great NW Rat/Hogs & Dogs Mischief (mostly harmless), and welcome all-and-sundry!!

Cheers,
8

This guy, Rick Leeson, smiths up in Custer (between Bellingham and Blaine) and teaches as well. He has an annual hammerin at his shop, looks like it's today!

By the way, Nick Wheeler makes knives in Washington as well.:foot: I bet you could learn a ton of great stuff around his shop.
