Dude...You need a bigger bike ;)

Don't listen to him, that bike looks just right. I was riding toward this large guy on a mini bike one time. I thought, wow, that is a huge dude on a mini.......then I got closer, and realized that it was a Ducati 999, full sized bike, just a really huge dude riding it.......I laughed so hard (and wished I had his bike, and he had mine). I got the oil changed, and am juicing the battery up. Took it for a short ride today, the weather is very nice. Really looking forward to the jacket coming here.

I cannot believe what I am hearing. Though I am sure everyone is being completey sincere, I wonder how many would buy leather over steel. Especially if you have no infi at all. . I love leather but it ranks well below knives in the mfaster hierarchy of things I must have. As far as safety goes, a good piece of steel makes me feel safe. I think that having a good knife might save my life in the future while leather will, at most, keep me from breaking a bone. Both are important; the knife is more important. The leather is, after all, an added precaution, albeit a very important one. The knife is always an integral part of any activity in which it might be engaged. In any case that is one cool jacket. Congratulations on law school. I went for a year and that was more than enough for me. And most importantly, get that Battle Mistress. Prima Facie and in loco parentis

my aero leather jacket was actually thicker then my langlitz :D (both were the thickest available type, one in cowhide, the other (aero) in hosehide).

i went for the goat, instant comfort and much lighter weight. not familiar with aero, but any hide that will save your hide is a good thing...

This is weird. I had posted a reply to this almost six hours ago and it's like it never happened. My stuff is lost in the aether....

The LeMans is my smallest bike. I also have a Guzzi SPIII:

But the little bike is the one that is the most fun. When I go on a ride with the Harley guys from work, they all make the "monkey humping a football" jokes. Then I go around them on the outside of a right-hand sweeper at 35 mph above their speed and they aren't laughing so much anymore.

I ride what I already had before law school started. KLX650c. I used to ride with Harley guys (most of the management of my old company), bullet bike guys and BMW guys (all at the same time). We made for a motley group. Harley guys were easy to keep up with, (I have had the bike up to 110 with dirt tires on it), but the BMW guys were hell to ride with.....taking corners much faster than my dirt tires would keep grip.

here is a photo of what they look like (not mine, still need to take a pic of it with the new camera). I have taken all the decals off mine, and recovered the seat in black.

Unless your leather jacket has integral armor, it probably won't keep you from breaking a bone. It can protect you from objects puncturing your chest or back. It can prevent skin grafts or at a minimum some unattractive scars.

If you leave your bike at speed I promise you it will leave a mark if you're unprotected. This I can tell you from personal experience. On that particular day I didn't need a knife because the EMT used his own knife to cut my T-shirt away.

+1 on choosing safety.

I had a bit of an incident last riding season. in a parking lot. Almost not moving forward at all, and took a small patch off my right hand. My riding gloves were still in my pocket, I had forgotten to put them on.

Mfaster7, I have enough knives to use, no worries about being knife less in need (I always, Always carry a sharp knife.....you never know when you might need to cut off your own leg or arm to survive....or maybe just cut something in general), I just don't have any Busse knives........I have sure had my fill of law school, and I hope it is worth it in the end.
