I want to warn fellow BladeForums members about sogtrident7. Had a bad experience with him on another knife forum, the only thing I can do is post a warning here. If you have any questions you can email or PM me for details.

Why don't you explain with some details about your bad experience?

Just posting a "watch out" is rather pointless, especially if it happened on another forum. If you have a legitimate grievance, tell us about it here, openly.

Specific details please.............................

Giving this a bump .

If things went down as how Jaydev described in his PM to me, sogtrident7 is not to be trusted.

Don't know what the deal is but he's making posts in the Exchange and Trading forums...

Well I suppose how im allowed to proceed is because it's one side to a bs story. I'm not going to bicker on here like a kid. Apparently jaydev feels he owns or owned (if he lost one) the only Ritter in existence. And also is flattered enough that in the 300 or so Internet transactions I've made his knife is the one I had to steal. I have made five trades on this forum in the last two weeks and three on another all without a hitch and for much more expensive knives. Hinderers, sebenza and emersons. My eBay fdback is 100% on 192 transactions. Imbued anyone can take pictures that were sent to him and claim it was his and it was stolen. I once heard a quote that says "there is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance that principal is contempt prior to inestigation". Thanks for that from those of you I have received crappy emails from. I guess I'll take a break for a while but you people really need to get both sides before blame is placed. Thanks and have a good day all.

if the ritter grip was numbered, and he sent it to you, and someone else said they got it from you, wouldn't it be safe to say that you were once in possession of that knife?

There is usually only 1 model, in this case a M4 Ritter Griptilian, with a specific number, in this case 072. If Jaydev sent you this particular knife and you claim that you didn't recieve it, how did member Catmath 1911 get that very same knife from you? Also, why would you trade a knife knowing that the person who sent it to you did not recieve their knife, but as they claim, a lightbulb that your wife mistakenly sent? (Why someone would ship a lightbulb in the first place is a mystery in itself.)

here is the knife in question, in photos, clearly showing that catmath's knife is in fact the M4 Ritter Griptilian #072, which Jaydev says he sent to you in trade and says that you said you never recieved. How did it get into Catmath 1911's hands then?

Looks like we got the story straight, unless there are two identical knives, numbered 072.

Someone sure looks dishonest Sogtrident7, any guess who?

"The lady doth protest too much"

Firstly, no one placed blame. I was merely looking for an explanation. How do you see this thread (and apparently get "crappy emails") and not feel it necessary to atleast post a comment with an explanation? If I read your response correctly then Jay is just lying in a vain attempt to slander your good name? I suppose thats possible but one has to ask why he'd go thru such elaborate lengths. A simple explanation for a simple problem would suffice.

0k Sogtrident7,(Ben)

How do you explain that I sent you a Benchmade m4 ritter 072 with black micarta wilkins grips with delivery confirmation number and you sent me a light bulb with Delivery Confirmation number? ( that was supposed to be a sebenza) you swear it was a mistake that your wife sent me the light bulb and your friend the Sebenza and will ship out when you get the sebenza back from your friend that it was "accidentally shipped to" . The Delivery Confirmation number says my m4 ritter was delivered, then you say you never received it. Now because of no signature confirmation I can not prove you received it. To make a long story short, I look on Blade forums and I see catmath 1911 selling an M4 Ritter number 072 with G10 wilkins grips (You swithed the grips). I contact catmath 1911 and ask if he received this knife from You and he says yes. I explained to him the whole story and he was nice enough to offer to give me the knife, but I thought it was not fair for him to do that. Included I have a pic of the DC number I sent you, and the text messages where you admit you sent me the light bulb by mistake and were going to send me the Sebenza. I just want to make sure no one else gets screwed over like I did.

P.S I included a pic of the light bulb you sent me in case you might want to trade it for your Sebenza. (You ship first)

It's a lamp. Why ship anything in the first place if you're gonna scam someone. That seems really odd to me. He could've just sent a box with peanuts inside or an empty box. Something doesn't add up. And that lamp is next to worthless unless it's some new fangled, CREE high output lamp or a projector lamp (which can cost hundreds).

Info to add. Good ending for me. I entered into discussions with Ben (sogtrident7) in late December via another forum. We chatted online and agreed to a trade. A nib BM gold Grip and a nib Spyderco Terzuola, on his part, for my large classic Sebenza with micarta inlays, I presume the one above. I had not seen it up for trade, nor been informed of its being on the block until late last night. Anyways, we agreed to ship on friday, Dec.30. I did that. He sent me about 4 emails asking if I had shipped, when I was going to ship, he would ship as soon as he had heard back from me. Then he sent me a pic of a shipping label to me. I thought him a bit of a nervous trader at that point, no big deal. I ship overnight air, but due to New Year's, delivery was not until 9:59am, Tuesday Jan.3. I checked my email about 1030 and was informed by him he had just shipped my knives, that he had not shipped them to me friday due to being "ripped off for $800 on a previous trade." I did no respond for about 12 hours due to a long standing rule I have about not emailing when I am so furious my hands can't type. When I did all I asked was what had he shipped friday? No response. So I did what I could do. Contacted a forum moderator for some advice and chatted with a postal inspector friend of my Dad's. I emailed Ben the next day, with well wishes and some information on mail fraud. He responded by telling me how I was over reacting, how dare I threaten him and that he is a very honest person etc. Several more emails flowed and I asked him to have a 3rd party read our exchange and then get back to me. He eventually did, and said how sorry he was, that he could see how I would feel and so on.
Well, the empty box arrived yesterday. Actually it was a largish box, filled with another box - with two more boxes in it. All .45acp empty boxes. Just scratched my head again. And a note explaining how he was not ripping me off, that he would ship upon receipt of my knife.
Also received another heavier box with the knives promised, dated the 3rd of Jan. Not quite in nib condition, Grip has a wee bit of coating rubbed off and was missing a clip screw, Terzuola missing the lanyard, but I will be using them both. Fantastic knives, happy to have received them.
This quote is hilarious to me by Ben:

I have made five trades on this forum in the last two weeks and three on another all without a hitch

I consider our trade a little hitchy. Hope you others have good outcomes and I will discreetly send emails to parties directly involved in trading with Ben(sogtrident7) and forum mods if requested. My experience has been less than stellar, but the outcome was satisfactory.

Sogtrident put up a offer for trade on one of my threads a couple days ago. Luckily Jaydev gave me a headsup about this ripoff scam and I emailed Sogtrident back and reiterated the above story and I said I wasn't doing any buisness with him and told him he should send money or the knife to Jaydev and make this right.

This is his response : Huh too bad. Well thanks n e way

That pretty much sums up that Sogtrident does not care and did not even try to deny it.I hope the moderators of this board can try to talk to this guy and tell him to send the money to Jaydev.

Woah, some seriously flaky stuff going on here with sogtrident7. I don't normally stick my nose into these threads but it caught my eye because I'm currently in the middle of a trade with Jaydev. Our deal isn't complete yet but so far Jay has been a great guy and I'm so sorry to hear he got ripped off by this... ummm... person. (trying to bite my tongue here).
